    OLCOTT, Jan. 22-Funeral services
    were conducted Monday afternoon
    at his late home on the Transit
    road for John F. Leinz. who died
    suddenly late but Thursday night
    from a paralytic stroke The Rev.
    William H Burley at the Olcott
    Union Methodist Episcopal church
    officiated, assisted by the Rev. Arthur
    a Northrup of the Appleton
    Wesleyan Methodist church. Burial
    was in Lakeview cemetery, and the
    bearers were C. Parker Corwin. Al
    bert Thief, Archie Briggs, Edward
    J- Lapham. Ira L. Dickinson and
    Charles J. Lawton The funeral was
    one of the largest attended here in
    many years.
    Mr. Leinz was born in the town
    of Newfane May 4. 1871. and had
    resided in this immediate locality
    all his life. He was president of the
    Lake Ontario Fruit Growers Asso-
    ciation and of the Lake View Ceme-
    tery Association, was a member of
    the Olcott Union Methodist Episco-
    pal church and had been a trustee
    of that society for the past thirty
    years.
    Had Friendship of All.
    For the past four years he has
    been associated with his brother,
    Danniel Lienz of this village, in the
    general wood working business. In
    all, he was one of Olcott's most in-
    fluential and highly respected citi-
    zens, and his presence will be greatly
    missed by the entire community
    which shares with his relative, deep
    regret at his untimely death. He
    was a man who always had a kind
    word, a smile and a helping hand
    for every one.
    He was appaarently in good health
    the day preceding his death, cutting
    timber in the woods on his farm,
    and eating a hearty dinner that
    evening. He retired early, and short-
    ly before midnight, his wife aroused
    by his unusually loud snoring, at-
    tempted to awaken him but was
    unable to do so. She called a
    physician but death occured before
    his arrival. Coroner Frank T. Car-
    mer, M.D. of Newfane, was called
    and issued a certificate of death due
    to cerebro-apoplexy.
    Surviving are his widow, Eliza-
    beth Betzler Leinz, one brother,
    Daniel of Olcott, and three sisters,
    Mrs. Mary Mayer of Buffalo, Mrs.
    Christine McCarthy and Miss Emma
    Leinz of Olcott.
