    Elizabeth J. (Bedford) Bloom, 88 formerly of Medina, NY, passed away on Saturday October 17, 2015 at Absolut Care of Gasport. Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Alicia (Parker) Bedford.
    On May 7, 1960, Betty married Bernard J. Bloom at St. John the Baptist Church in Lockport, NY. Mr. Bloom predeceased her in 1994. Betty worked as a nurses aid in the Pediatrics Department of Lockport Memorial Hospital. Afterwards, she worked in home care devoting her time to taking care of her mother. Betty was devoted to her Catholic faith and long time member of St. Mary’s Church in Medina, NY. She enjoyed collecting artifacts of cardinals, painting, drawing and crossword puzzles. As a child, she loved spending time at Bedford Beach in Lockport that was owned by her parents, as well as working on their farm in Gasport, NY. Betty and her husband also enjoyed bike riding, traveling and attending musicals. She took great pleasure going to Crystal Beach in Canada with her family, family reunions held at Olcott Beach and walking her dog Misty.
    Mrs. Bloom is survived by her three children, Christine M. (David) Bloom Horth of Niagara Falls, NY, Bernard (Rhonda) Bloom of Park Hills, KY and Cheryl A. (Frank) Palermo of Webster, NY, one step-grandson Jonathan Hampton, two brothers, Robert ‘Bob’ (late Margaret) Bedford of Alpena, MI, David (late Doris) (Evelyn) Bedford of Florida, one sister Sharon (Donald) Tombari of Lyndonville, NY and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by an infant brother, Patrick Bedford, a brother, Marvin (Mary of Florida) Bedford and one sister Mary Alicia (late Red) LaMountain.
    Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 22nd from 9 - 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St, Lockport, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joe Dumphrey officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Albion, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221, American Heart Association 5488 Sheridan Drive, Suite 300 Williamsville, NY 14221 or Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York 3871 Harlem Rd. Cheektowaga, NY 14215.

    Miss Elizabeth Joyce Bedrord
    became the bride of Bernard
    Bloom Saturday morning at 9:30
    in St. John The Baptist Church.
    The couple repeated their wedding
    vows before the Rt. Rev.
    Msgr. Francis A. Clancy at the
    altar enhanced by arrangements
    of white gladioli.
    The bride's parents are Mr.
    and Mn. Marvin James Bedford
    of the Wheeler Rd., Lockport
    The groom is the son of Mrs
    Francis Bloom of Medina.
    PRINCESS GOWN
    Mr. Bedford gave his daughter

    in marriage. Her princess style
    gown of Chantilly lace was fashioned
    with a Peter Pan collar,
    edged with seed pearls and sequins
    which was repeated in the
    bouffant skirt ending in a sweep
    train.
    A lace cap with a crown of seed
    pearls held her veil of illusion,
    and she carried a colonial bouquet
    of sweetheart roses and carnations.
    Maid of honor was Miss Sharon
    S. Bedford, die bride's sister. Her
    ballerina - length gown of orchid
    taffeta with lace panel inserts
    was styled with a scoop neckline
    and bow at the back. She wore a
    matching halo headpiece with
    face veil and carried a colonial
    bouquet of pink and white carnations.
    Bridesmaids were the Misses
    Beverly Harper of Appleton and
    Kathleen La Mountain. Their bouquets
    and ensembles, fas blue and
    pink respectively, were like that
    of the maid of honor.
    Joan Bedford, the bride's sister,
    was flower girl. She wore a
    blue nylon and lace dress and
    carried a nosegay of pink and
    white carnations.
    Lt. James Bloom of Ft. Knox,
    Ky. attended his brother as best
    man. Ushering duties were per-
    formed by George La Mountain,
    nephew of the bride, and William
    Buddenhagen.

    GRANDMOTHER ATTENDS
    For her daughter's wedding,
    Mrs. Bedford chose a Dior blue
    lace dress over taffeta with pink
    and white accessaries and a pink
    rose corsage. The groom's mother
    wore a brown lace dress over
    taffeta with matching accessories
    and a brown orchid corsage. Mrs.
    Patrick Parker, grandmother of
    the bride, chose a black and white
    ensemble complemented by a
    white carnation corsage.
    A wedding dinner followed by
    a reception for 190 guests, was
    served in the Knights of Columbus
    Hall. Aa heirloom lace cloth covered
    the table which held me
    wedding cake and flowered cancue
    holders with tail white tapers.
    The bride was wearing a navy
    blue suit drees, white accessories
    and a white orchid corsage as the
    couple left for a trip to California.
    They will live in Lockport on their
    return.
    Guests were present from Canada,
    Akron, Albion, lockport and
    Niagara Falls.
    The bride was graduated from
    Royalton-Hartland Central School
    and the groom from Medina High
    School.
