    Bert L. Bevacqua, of 1547 Whitney
    avenue, Niagara Falls, New
    York, member of one of the leading
    Italian-American families of
    the city, and widely known as one
    of the foremost sports promoters
    and enthusiasts of the community,
    died Tuesday at the John Hopkins
    hospital at Baltimore after an
    operation. He was 35 years old.
    After his marriage to Olive
    Guido of Ganson street. North
    Tonawanda, he resided in this
    city for several years and later
    moved back to the Falls.
    Born in Niagara Falls, Mr. Bevacqua
    was a son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Peter Bevacqua. He was associated
    with Walter S. Johnson, building
    contractor, for many years.
    For a number of years he was
    American Legion Softball League,
    a leading figure in athletic events
    and was vice-president of the
    a past officer of the Club Ambassador,
    and a member of the Holy
    Name Society of St. Joseph's
    church.
    Besides his parents and his wife,
    Olive Guido Bevacqua, he is survived
    by four brothers, William,
    Paul, Frank and Ernest, and five
    sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lago, Mrs.
    Margaret Riggi, Mrs. Elizabeth
    Pontpinto, and the Misses Mary
    and Norma Bevacqua, all if Niagara
    Falls,
    The funeral will be held from
    his parents' home, 833 18th street,
    Niagara Falls, at 9 a.m. tomorrow
    morning, with services at the St.
    Joseph's church at 9:30. Burial
    will be in St. Joseph's cemetery

    (Norma) Nielsen, all of this city;
    and the late Bert L. Bevacqua and
    the late Mrs. Sam (Elizabeth) Pontepinto.
    Brother of Mrs. Theresa Grananto
    of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. and Mlchele
    Bevacqua of Italy. Also survived by
    15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held from the Spallino Funeral Home,
    1300 Pine Ave., Monday,-April 20,
    1964 at 8:45 a.m. and St. Joseph's
    Church at 9:15 a.m. Interment St.
    Joseph's Cemetery.

    Pietro Bevacqua, 78, of 620 16th St., a Dobbie Foundry
    and Machine Co. millwright 34 years, died Thursday
    (April 16,1964).
    Mr. Bevacqua was stricken
    in his yard. He was pronounced
    dead on arrival at Memorial
    Hospital.
    A native of Spezzano Grande
    in Calabria, Italy, he came
    to this city in 1904. He retired
    from Dobbie Foundry in 1953.
    Mr. Bevacqua was a member
    of St. Joseph's Church
    Holy Name Society and a
    past member of the Knights
    of Columbus. His wife, Maria
    Carolina) Bevacqua, predeceased
    him.
    Surviving are four sons and
    four daughters, all of this
    city, William J., Paul F.,
    Frank R. and Ernest W. Bevacqua
    and Mrs. Marshall
    (Carrie) Lago, Mrs. James
    (Margaret) Riggi, Mrs. Charles
    (Mary) Guagenti and Mrs.
    Harlan L. (Norma) Nielsen;
    a sister, Mrs. Theresa Gra-,
    nanto, Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and
    a brother, Michael Bevacqua
    in Italy; 15 grandchildren and
    13 great grandchildren.
    The services will be at 8:45
    a.m. Monday at Spallino Fu-
    neral Home and at 9:15 at St.
    Joseph's Church. Burial will
    be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

    Mrs. Maria C. Bevacqua, 69,
    of 633 16th St, ,wife of Petro
    Bevacqua, died early today at Memorial
    Hospital after a long illness.
    Mrs. Bevacqua was born in Italy
    and came to this country in 1906.
    Last April, she and her husband
    celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
    Mrs. Bevacqua was a
    member of the Medonna del Perpetuo
    Soccorso, Society delle
    Anime Santa del Purgaturio and
    Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Society.
    In addition to her husband, she
    is survided by four sons, William,
    Paul, Frank and Ernest Bevacqua;
    four'daughters, Mrs. Marshall Lago,
    Mrs. James Riggt, Mrs. Charles
    Guagenti and Miss Norma Bevacqua;
    and 11 grandchildren, all of
    this city.
    Funeral services will be held at
    9 a.m. Monday at the Spallino Funeral

    Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bevacqua of
    633 Sixteenth street, were "at home"
    to friends and relatives yesterday,
    the occasion being their fortieth
    wedding anniversary. With one exception.
    Corporal Frank Bevacqua,
    who is stationed at Ft. Eustis, Va.,
    all of the couples children-William.
    Paul. Ernest. Mrs. Marshal Lago,
    Mrs. James Riggle, Mary and Norma-
    and five grandchildren-Mary
    Lucille. Bill. Bobby and Betty Anne
    Bevacqua and Gloria Pontpinto-
    were able to be present
    A delicious buffet luncheon was
    served, using a "ruby and white
    color scheme in honor of their forty
    years of marriage.
    *Mr. and Mrs. Bevacqua were the
    recipients of many beautiful and
    useful gifts.
