the Rosary Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

at Lockport Memorial Hospital,
Thursday, after a short illness.
Born May 16, 1897, in the
Town of Amherst, the son of
Jacob and Catherine Bicker
Fiegl, he was employed as a
millwright by Simonds Steel
Division of Wallace - Murray
Corp. for 21 years, retiring in
1962.
He was a member and the
first president of the Lockport
C h a p t e r of American
Association of Retired Persons,
a member of Lockport
Senior Citizens, the St. Vincent
de Paul Society and the Holy
Name Society of St. John's
Church.
He was married to Grace A.
Fiegl and they celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary
April 7, 1970.
Surviving, in addition to his
widow, are: a son, Paul D.,
Gasport; four daughters, Mrs.
David (Geraldine) Heacox, Mrs.
Raymond (Katherine J.) Eccleston,
Mrs. Roland (Marion)
Snyder and Mrs. Arthur
(Patricia) Sherman, all of
Lockport; three brothers and
two sisters, Joseph and George
Fiegl, Lockport, Leo and Mrs.
Steven Art both of Amherst and
Mrs. Agnes Schieder, Buffalo;
26 grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by two sons,
William Jr. and Thomas N.
Friends may call at the
Joseph M. Kennedy Funeral
Home Inc., from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m., where a funeral service
will be held Monday at 10:30
a.m. and at 11 a.m. at St. John's
Church. Burial will follow in
Cold Spring Cemetery. The
Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
Sunday.

Two family wedding anniversaries
were marked this
month, at an open house in
Eagles Hall, when a golden
and a silver bridal were
marked.
Mr. and Mrs. William
Fiegl of 54 Franklin St.,
Lockport, celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. David Heacox,
37 Webb St., Lockport, observed
a 25th anniversary.
Mrs. Heacox is a daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Fiegl.
Gold and silver cakes centered
the main table for the
open house, hosted by daughters
and sons of the families.
Married April 7, 1920 at St.
Patrick's Church of Lockport,
Mr. and Mrs. Fiegl,
have lived at their present
address for the past 33
years, and before that on
Spruce Street. They belong
to St. John Che Baptist R.C.
Church, Lockport.
Officiating at their wedding
was the Rev. Patrick
J. Cannon, Rev. M. Gontheir
and Rev. Leo Link. Attendees
were Mrs. Mary E.
Williams, Mrs. Peter Vogel
and Mrs. James E. Stoops.
Mr. Fiegl, born May 16,
1897, at East Amherst, is
the son of Catherine Bicker
and Jacob Fiegl. Until retiring
in 1962, Mr. Fiegl
worked at Simonds Saw and
Steel for 33 years.
His wife, the daughter of
Catherine Cullen and Robert
McCormick, is a native of
Lockport. She is a member
of the Ladies of Charity,
St. Patrick's Unit, the American
Legion Auxiliary, St.
John's Altar and Rosary,
Senior Citizens, and American
Association of Retired
Persons.
Mr. Fiegl served for two
years as president of AARP,
Chapter 340, and is presently
treasurer. Also, he belongs
to St. John's Holy
Name Society, Senior Citizens
and Old Guard.
They are the parents of
Mrs. David (Jerry) Heacox,
Mrs. Raymond (Jean) Eccleston;
Mrs. Roland (Marion)
Snyder; Mrs. Arthur
(Patricia) Sherman and David
P. Fiegl, and the late
Deputy William J. Fiegl and
Thomas N. Fiegl.
More than 450 persons attended
the anniversary open
house.
Mr. and Mrs. Heacox,
marking their 25th bridal,
were wed April 7, 1945, at
St. John's Church by the
late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis
Clancy. Attendants were
Mrs. James E. Carney, Mrs.
Louis Timmerman, Mrs.
Raymond Eccleston, Robert
Heacox and Harold Lewis.
Mr. Heacox and his wife
have made their home on
Webb Street for the past
24 years. He is employed
at Harrison Radiator Division,
General Motors Corp.
They are the parents of Staff
Sgt. Gary Heacox, USMC,
Camp LeJeune, N.C., and
Andrea, Besty and Kirk
Heacox, at home.
