    William J. Bicker, 76, formerly
    active with volunteer
    firemen's associations, died this
    morning at Lockport Memorial
    Hospital after a long illness.
    Mr. Bicker was born Aug. 27,
    1895, in Lockport, a son of John
    and Mary (Burke) Bicker.
    He was in the U.S. Army in
    World War I.
    M r. Bicker worked at
    Harrison Radiator Division,
    General Motors Corp., for 47
    years, before retiring in 1960.
    He worked as a shear operator
    there.
    After retiring Mr. Bicker
    operated the Exempt Volunteer
    Firemen's Association Club on
    Elm Street, until it closed Aug.
    I, 1971.
    Mr. Bicker was a member
    and served as president for 23
    years with the Lockport Exempt
    Volunteer Firemen's Association.

    He was a member and past
    president of the Niagara County
    Volunteer Firemen's Association,
    a member of the New
    York State Volunteer Firemen's
    Association, the Western New
    York Volunteer Firemen's Association
    and the Frontier Volunteer
    Firemen's Association in
    Niagara Falls.
    He was also a member of St.
    John the Baptist Church; the
    Old Guard; B. Leo Dolan Post
    410, American Legion; VFW,
    No. 2535; B.P.O.E. No. 41; and
    a member and past commander
    of World War I Barracks No.
    1334.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs.
    Ella S. Bicker; a daughter and
    a son, Mrs. Thomas (Bernice)
    Hammond and Wallace A.
    Bicker; a sister and a brother,
    Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts and
    Stephen Bicker; eight grandchildren;
    one great granddaughter;
    several nieces and
    nephews.
    Friends may call from 7 to
    9 p.m. tonight and from 2 to
    4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow
    at the Prudden and Kandt
    Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St.
    Funeral services will be he'd
    Where Saturday at 8:45 a.m. and
    at 9:15 a.m. at St. John the
    Baptist Church. Burial will be
    in Cold Spring Cemeterv.
    Recitation of the Rosary will
    be at 8:15 p.m. Friday.

    Services for John S. Bicker, who
    died at the home of a son, Stephen
    Bicker. 201 Union St., Thursday,
    will be held at 8:30 tomorrow at
    the Kennedy Funeral Home and at
    9 o'clock at St. John's Church, with
    burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
    Mr. Bicker had been employed
    for many years by the Harrison
    Radiator Division, General Motors
    Corporation, but retired 5 years ago.
    He was born In the Town of Pendleton.
    He leaves 2 sons, Stephen and
    William J. Bicker, 2 daughters, Mrs.
    Arthur Savigny and Mrs. Rial
    Roberts and 3 sisters, Mrs. John
    Bishop, Mrs. William Baudendistle
    and Mrs. Frank Laubacker, all of
    Lockport.

    Mary F. Bicker passed away sud-
    denly Thursday morning, December
    5, 1940 at the Lockport City hospital.
    She is survived by her husband
    John S., two daughters and two
    sons, Mrs. Arthur Savigny, Mrs.
    Rial Roberts, william J. and
    Stephen V., also thirteen grand-
    children, one sister Mrs. Peter Grat-
    ten all of Lockport. Remains re-
    posing at the Kennedy Funeral
    Home where funeral services will
    be held Saturday morning, Decem-
    ber 7, 1940 at 8:30 o'clock and 9:00
    o'clock at St. John's church. Inter-
    ment at St. Patrick's cemetery.
    Friends invited to call.
