    NIAGARA FALLS — William F. "Billy" Siuta, Jr., 77 years old, passed away on June 29, 2013, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Niagara Falls on September 23, 1935, the son of the late William F. and Mary (Skurski) Siuta.

    Billy was a graduate of the former Bishop Duffy High School and received his master's degree in teaching from Buffalo State College. He served with the United States Marine Corps from August 31, 1953 until his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant on August 30, 1956. Billy was a teacher at Gaskill Junior High School and was the Parks Director for the City of Niagara Falls. He later was a special education teacher at Niagara Orleans BOCES and retired in 1992. Billy loved to fish and was a member of the Niagara River Anglers Association, the National Fishing Lures Collectors Club and the American Legion Portage Post #1465.

    Billy is survived by his son, Rick (Tammy) Siuta and daughter, Robin (Stephen) Norwich, both of Niagara Falls. He is survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth Norwich, Ryan Siuta, Christopher Norwich, Jimi Siuta, Jared Siuta and Trent Siuta, and his great-granddaughter, Rachael Linnane. He is also survived by his sisters, MaryAnn (Paul) Usavage of Chester Springs, PA and Vicky (Alfred) Grabka of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen E. (Michaels) Siuta, who passed away on February 19, 1999.

    Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

    Miss Michaels, also the daughter of the
    late Mr. Michaels, is a graduate of Niagara
    Falls Hiigh School and received a bachelor
    of business administration degree from Niagara
    University, where she is doing graduate
    work. She is on the faculty at North Junior
    High School.
    Mr. Siuta, a graduate of Bishop Duiflfy
    High School and Buffalo State Teachers College,
    served in the Marine Corps. He is on
    the faculty at Niagara Street School.

    in the Canadian Rocky Mountains
    after their wedding at St. Stanislaus Kostka
    Church Saturday (July 23, 1966).
    Rev. Vincent Parulis performed the doublering
    ceremony uniting the former Miss Helen
    E. Michaels, daughter of Mrs. Casimer Michaels,
    485 Hyde Park Blvd., and the son of
    Mr. and Mrs. William Siuta Sr., 2221 Falls St.
    The bride was given in marriage by her
    brother, Walter D. Michaels. She wore a
    gown of white crepe with Venice lace, styled
    with a square neckline, and elbow length
    sleeves. The sheath skirt was accented with a
    detachable lace trimmed watteau train. A
    matching petals cluster secured her veil of
    silk illusion and she carried a bouquet of white
    carnations and stephanotis.
    Miss Barbara Ciurylo was maid of honor.
    Cousins of the bride, Miss Christine Cwierly,
    Miss Karen Szczes, Miss Geraldine Richwalder,
    and Miss Suzanne Krzystek were bridesmaids.
    They wore identical gowns of aqua
    and turquoise with scooped necklines, elbow
    length sleeves, modified sheath skirts with
    back panels, and matching bouffant veils. They
    carried baskets of matching pompons and ivy.
    John Janik Jr. was best man. William Cosgrove,
    and cousins of the groom, Stanley Zak,
    Frank Skurski and Daniel Mocniak were ushers.
    A reception was held at the Veterans of
    Foreign Wars Hall.
    After their return, the couple will live in
    Niagara Falls.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Sophie (Szczes) Michaels, 93 years old, passed away on January 22, 2011, at her home, while under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born on March 13, 1917 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria (Ciesielski) Szczes.

    Mrs. Michaels attended local schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards.

    Mrs. Michaels was predeceased by her husband, Casimer Michaels, who passed away on July 23, 1963. She is survived by her son, Walter (Barbara) Michaels of Lewiston; her son-in-law, William F. Siuta, Jr.; her sister, Helen Richwalder of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Helen E. Siuta; her brothers, John and Stanley Szczes and her sisters, Cecelia Bernat, Jane Lewis, Ida Pirinelli, Frances Detkos, Dorothy Preisch, Stella Nowicki and Stephania Chrzanowski.

    Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

    Walenty A. Siuta, 78, of
    2233 Falls St., a founder of St.
    S t a n i s laus Kostka Church,
    died today (Nov. 4, 1965) at
    Memorial Hospital after a
    short illness.
    He was born in Poland and
    came to the United States and
    to Niagara Falls in 1902. He
    was employed as a plumber
    and, during the construction
    of the underground power
    tunnels in 1904, he worked as
    a driller.
    Later he was employed by
    Hooker Chemical Corp. and,
    in 1955, he retired from the
    International Graphite and
    Electrode Co. after 13 years
    service.
    He was a member of the St.
    John Kanty Society, Polish
    National Alliance, Group No.
    2094.
    He is survived by his widow,
    Regina Jarzab Siuta; six.sons,
    William Siuta, a board of education
    employe; August Siuta;
    John Siuta, a city Patrolman;
    Joseph Siuta, all of Niagara
    Falls; Walter Siuta, a
    Niagara-Wheatfield High
    School custodian and Stephen
    Siuta, a Niagara-Wheatfield
    High School teacher, both of

    50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRANTS—Mr. and
    Mrs. Valenty Siuta, East Falls St. will celebrate their golden weddmg
    anniversary on Monday. They were married in this city at
    Holy Trinity Church on Nov. 28. 1905. A Mass was said at 8 a.m.
    at St. Stanislaus Kosta Church this morning with all the member
    of the family and friends present. A breakfast followed at Madej's
    Hall and a reception will be held this afternoon and evening. Mr.
    and Mrs. Siuta have nine children: William Siuta. Gus Siuta, Mrs.
    Regina Zasucha. Walter Siuta, John Siuta, Mrs. Stanley Zak,
    Joseph Siuta, Steve Siuta, and Mrs. Henry Mocniak. They also
    have 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mr. Siuta was
    employed at the International Graphite Corp. before retiring a
    month ago.

    MICHAEL JOHN SKURSKI
    Michael John Skurski, 85, of
    Swann Road, Ransomville,
    died today (Sept. 28, 1971) at
    Mount St. Mary's Hospital,
    Lewiston, after a short illness.
    He was born in Poland and
    had lived here for 75 years.
    He is the grandfather of
    Acting City Parks Director
    William Siuta.
    Mr. Skurski was in the coal
    business for a year on 15th
    Street in Niagara Falls; in the
    restaurant business at 2701
    Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, for
    several years, and a dairy
    farmer on Swann Road for 51
    years.
    He was a member of
    Woodmen of the World Camp
    211; St. Jude's Society of St.
    Stanislaus Kostka Church and
    a 50-year member of the farm
    bureau.
    Mr. Skurski was the husband
    of the late Victoria who died in
    1970.
    Survivors include three sons,
    Benny of Niagara Falls;
    Edward and Frank of Ransomville;
    three daughters,
    Mrs. William (Mary) Siuta of
    Niagra Falls, Mrs. Alfred
    (Frances) Glemb of Ramsomville
    • and Miss Lottie
    Skurski of Ransomville; a
    brother in Poland; 11 grandchildren

    LaBuda Funeral Home and at
