  1. 1.  Kate was born about 1863 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY; died on 2 Apr 1939 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY.

    NEWFANE, April 3-Mrs. Kate
    Bassler, 77, a resident of this village
    for many years, died at 10 o'clock
    Sunday night at the home of her
    brother-in-law, Frank Miller, Main
    street and Ide road. She had been
    ill for the past six weeks with
    grippe, heart trouble and other
    complications.
    Mrs. Bassler was born to the town
    of Newfane and lived for a time in
    the town of Lockport. Later she
    moved to Newfane village where she
    was a member of the Methodist
    Episcopal church and women's association.
    Surviving are one aaughter, Mrs.
    Mabel Bigalow of Newfane and one
    sister, Mrs. Margaret Brennan of
    Cleveland.
    Services will be held Wednesday
    afternoon at 3:30 at the Miller
    home. The Rev. Grover C
    Bucher, Newfane Methodist Episcopal
    church, will officiate. Burial
    will be In Corwm cemetery.
