    NIAGARA FALLS, Ont.-Frederick Leflar Biggar,
    80, of 2401 High St., died Thursday (Oct. 14, 1965) in
    Grace Abbey Nursing Home where he had been a resident
    for two and a half years.
    Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y.,*
    he had lived here for the last
    75 years, He was an immigration
    officer here for 40 years,
    retiring about 10 years ago.
    Mr. Biggar was a c h a r t er
    member of St. Martin's Anglican
    Church.
    He served overseas in World
    War I with the Royal Canadian
    Rifles and was one of 10
    Canadians who survived the
    Battle of Ypres. He was a
    member of Royal Canadian
    Legion Branch No. 51.
    He was a member also of
    Cataract Lodge No. 103, IOOF.
    He had been a gardening
    enthusiast and was noted locally
    for the fine garden at
    his home. His wife, the former
    Edith Raynor, died in
    1963.
    Survivors include a sister,
    Mrs. Bessie Krisk, Batavia,
    N.Y.; two brothers, Dr. Her-
    bert E. Biggar, this city, and
    Arthur Biggar, Montrose, Pa.,
    and several nices and
    nephews.
    Friends may call at the
    Morse and Son Chapel. Services
    will be held in St. Martin's
    Anglican Church at 3 p.m.
    Saturday. Burial will be in
    Drummond Hill Cemetery.

    NIAGARA FALLS. Ont.-James
    Edgar Biggar, 94, died at his home,
    1720 Highland avenue, last night
    He was born on Lundy's lane a son
    of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Blggar,
    early settlers. He resided here
    92 years. He was educated at the
    Red meeting house, Green's Corner,
    which is one of the landmarks. For
    26 years Mr. Biggar operated a fruit
    and vegetable farm at Stamford
    from which he retired in 1917. At
    i»ne time he was an employe of the
    Peter B. Secord planing mill, Niagara
    Palls, N. Y.
    In 1881 he married Miss Hattle
    L. Groom, who died three years
    ago. Mr. Biggar was a member of
    the Presbyterian church. He was a
    member of Cataract lodge No. 103,
    and held the 60-year Jewel of that
    lodge. He was a former treasurer
    of Lundy's Lane Encampment, No.
    96. In politics he was a liberal.
    Surviving are four sons, Alonzo
    Kent, of Washington, Fred, of
    Stamford, Ont, Arthur, of Montrose,,
    Pa., Herbert, city; four daughters.

    Niagara Falls, N. Y.; two brothers,

    Ont; 20 grandchildren and 19
    great grandchildren.
    The body is resting at the Morse
    & Son funeral chapel until Sunday.
    The funeral service will be
    held st the chapel at 3:30 p. m.
    Sunday. Interment will be In Fairview
    cemetery.
