    Ind. announces the engagement
    of her daughter, Marilyn
    Elizabeth, to John Joseph
    Bishop, son of Ralph S. Bishop,
    239 Vine St., Lockport and the
    late Mrs. Bishop. Miss Tengen
    is also the daughter of the late
    Mr. Tengen.
    The bride-elect is a graduate
    of St. Francis High School, Lafayette
    and attended Purdue University.
    Her fiance was graduated
    from De Sales Catholic High
    School and Niagara University,
    He will receive a master of science
    degree from Purdue University
    in January 1960. Mr. Bishop
    is a member of Alpha Chi
    Sigma fraternity.
    The wedding will take place
    Jan. 30, 1960 at St. Boniface
    Catholic Church, Lafayette.

    Miss Marilyn Elizabeth Tengen became the bride
    of John Joseph Bishop
    Saturday morning at 10 in St.
    Boniface Catholic Church, Lafayette, Ind. The cere
    mony was performed by the Very Rev. Msgr. Arthur
    A. Sego. The altar was graced with bouquets of white
    gladioli and yellow mums.
    The bride is the daughter of
    Mrs. William E. Tengen of Lafayette,
    and the late Mr. Tengen.
    The groom is the son of Ralph S.
    Bishop of 239 Vine St. and the
    late Mrs. Bishop.
    Vincent Faustich of Lafayette
    gave his niece in marriage. The
    bride's gown was of imported
    hand-clipped Chantilly lace and
    tulle. The lace bodice was styled
    with long tapered sleeves, a
    slightly scooped neckline accented
    with iridescent sequins and
    pearls and a pointed waistline.
    The floor length bouffant skirt
    was formed of tiers of tulle and
    bordered lace ruffles.
    WEARS LACE PLATEAU
    Her bouffant ballerina - length
    veil of imported silk illusion fell
    from a lace plateau decorated
    with sequins and seed pearls,
    dropping to a point in front with
    a cultured pearl. She carried s
    cascade bouquet of a white orchid
    surrounded by white sweetheart
    roses and white stephanotis.
    Mrs. Joseph Nies of Lafayette
    was matron of honor. Her gown
    had a fitted bodice of jade green
    velveteen which ended in a
    pointed waistline and featured a
    sweetheart neckline with threequarter
    length sleeves. The ballerina-
    length bouffant skirt was
    made of a lighter tone of green
    taffeta. This was complemented
    by a velveteen jade green headdress
    trimmed with pearls. She
    carried a cascade bouquet of pale
    yellow and white carnations.
    Mrs. Charles Hatke of Lafayette.
    Ind.. and Mrs. James Spear
    of Bloomington, Ind. were the
    other attendants. Their gowns and
    headpieces were identical to that
    of the matron of honor. They
    carried cascades of pale yellow
    carnations.
    BEST MAN, USHERS
    The bride's brother, Thomas L
    Tengen of Lafayette, acted as
    best man. Guests were seated by
    Joseph Nies of Lafayette and
    Thaddeus Ichniowski of West Lafayette,
    Ind.
    The soloist, Stsnley Kingms,
    was accompanied by Miss Helen
    Murphy, both of Lafayette.
    For her daughter's wedding,
    Mrs. Tengen chose a beige wool
    crepe sheath dress, while the
    groom's mother favored a brown
    sheath dress.
    Members of the bridal party
    and the immediate families were
    served breakfast at Sarge Biltz
    Restaurant and the reception took
    place at the home of the bride's
    mother. The table was centered
    with an arrangement of yellow
    chrysanthemums and white pompons.
    As the couple left for a Washington
    and Philadelphia trip, the
    bride was wearing a winter white
    wool dress, the bodice featuring
    inverted box pleats that
    formed a slit neckline. The couple
    will live at 8409 Buffalo Ave.,
    Niagara Falls, N. Y.
    After graduating from St. Francis
    High School, the bride attended
    Purdue University, Lafayette.
    The groom was graduated from
    De Sales Catholic High School,
    earned his B.S. degree from Niagara
    University and his master's
    degree from Purdue University.

    Lockport City Hospital. She la survived

    Miss Mary Anna Bishop. John J.
    and Ralph A. Bishop. The. funeral
    will be held at 9:00 o'clock on Saturday
    morning at Taylor & Rey
    nolds Funeral Home, Niagara at
    North Transit Street, and at 9:30
    o'clock at St. John's Church. In
    terment will be In St. Patrick's
    Cemetery.

    Bishop, of Austria, also seventeen
    grandchildren. The funeral win be

    at St. Mary's Church. Interment
    will be to St. Mary's Cemetery.

    Ill for a week with pneumonia,
    Mrs. Barbara Bishop. 71. wife of
    John Bishop, died Tuesday night at
    her home. 57 Price St.
    Mrs. Bishop was born in the
    Town of Pendleton, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs. Sebastian Bicker, but had
    lived In Lockport since her marriage.
    She was a member of the
    Rosary Society of St. Mary's
    these Church.
    Besides her husband, ahe leaves
    four daughters, Mrs. Albert Drean
    of North Hollywood, Cal., Mrs. Cal-
    vin Berner, Mrs. Ward Martin and
    Mrs. Thomas Grundy; and four
    sons, Ralph, William, Lawrence and
    Bernard Bishop all of Lockport;
    and 17 grandchildren.
    Services will be held Friday at
    8:30 at the Taylor and Reynolds
    Funeral Home, 70 Niagara St., and
    at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Church.
    Burial will be in St. Mary's Ceme-
    tery.

    Wedding bells rang July 24, 1894, fifty years ago, at the
    Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton for the marriage of Mr. 1
    and Mrs. John Bishop. 57 Price St., at a High Mass at 10
    o'clock.
    The couple celebrated their 50th
    anniversary by attending Mass at
    Good Shepherd church, Pendle-
    ton Sunday and then with a dinner
    at Maple Brook Manor with their
    8 children and 16 grandchildren.
    Mrs. Bishop, now 68, was born
    on the Transit Road, town of
    Pendleton, the daughter of the late
    Mary Anna Rerun and Sebastian
    Bicker,
    Mr. Bishop, now 77 was born in
    insbruck, Tyrol, Austria and came
    to this country at the age of 25.
    He is the son of Catherine Patrick
    and James Bishop. He was em-
    ployed at Old Pulp Mills, Holly
    Shops, Gardner Foundry and Si-
    monds Saw and Steel Plant until
    he retired about 10 years ago.
    Following the finner, a reception
    was held at the home of the
    couples son, Bernard Bishop of
    Price Street.
    Mr. and Mrs. Bishop have 4
    daughters, Mrs. Calvin Berner,
    Mrs. Albert Drean, Mrs. Theodore
    Sherlock and Mrs. Thomas Grundy
    and 4 sons, Ralph, William, Law-
    rence and Bernard.
