NORTH TONAWANDA. July 27-
Fred Bishop. 31 years old, formerly of
North Tonawanda, was yesterday turned
over to authorities at Fort Niagara
charged with being a deserter from the
United States army. Bishop enlisted
from Pittsburgh, Pa., several years ago
and was assigned to Battery D 59th
Artillery, stationed at Fort Mills, Philip-
pine Islands.
He was later transferred to Fortress
Monroe, Virginia, from which camp he
deserted several months ago, army of-
ficers say. Officer Edward Kasbaum
arrested Bishop and removed him to
Fort Niagara yesterday. He will face a
court martial.

Benjamin Bishop, life-long resident
of North Tonawanda, died
this morning at the Niagara county
infirmary. He was 64 years old.
He was a member of the Live Hose
company and the North Tonawanda
Firemen's Benevolent association.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Henrietta McKeehan; a son,
Frederick; a granddaughter, North
Tonawanda; a brother Frederick
and a sister, Mrs. Louise McKnight
Buffalo. Rites will be held Thursday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from
Wattengel's Funeral Home, Oliver
street. Rev. Theodore Mayer will
officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn.

Benjamin married TESCH, Magdelena on 14 May 1896 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. Magdelena was born in Jun 1876 in New York; died on 7 Aug 1928 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The funeral of Mrs. Lena Bishop
will be held tomorrow afternoon
from the late residence, 143
Thompson street. Interment will
be at Elmlawn. Rev. Halladay
Woods of the North Presbyterian
church will officiate. Mrs. Bishop
was a member of the D.O.H. and
Pocohontas lodges.

Mrs. MRS. LENA BISHOP, 52 years old,
died this morning at her home,
143 Thompson street, after a lin-
gering illness. She was a life-
long resident. Surviving are a
husband, Benjamin Bishop, a
daughter, Mrs. David McKeehan;
a son, Fred Bishop; one grand-
daughter, a brother, William
Tesch, and a sister, Mrs. Michael
Monaco, all of North Tonawanda.

DOUBLE WEDDING.
A Brother and a Sister Will Leave
the Family Roof at the
Same Time.

Tonight that extremely interesting
event, a double wedding, will be celebrated
at the home of Mrs. Henrietta Bishop at
207 Wheatfield street, North Tonawanda
Tbe contracting parties are Miss Louisa
Bishop and Walter J. McKnight of Buffalo,
and Miss Magdelena Tesch and
Benjamin Bishop. Benjamin and Louisa
Bishop are brother and sister. The cere
mony will take place at Frieden's church,
and a reception will follow at the Bishop
homestead.

Mrs. Henrietta Bishop, one of the
pioneer residents of North Tonawanda,
died at her home at No. 104
Thompson street Saturday afternoon
after a lingering illness. She was born
in Germany 80 years ago and came to
North Tonawanda with her parents
when seven years old. She was the
widow of Frederick Bishop, late of
North Tonawanda. Mrs. Bishop was
a member of the Frieden's Lutheran
Church of Schenk street. Two daughters,
Mrs. Louisa MacKnlght of Buffalo
and Mrs. Hulda Regnet of Ton*
awanda, and five sons, Henry, William,
Fred and Benjamin Bishop of
North Tonawanda and George Bishop
of Buffalo, survive. The funeral will
be held from the family home at 1:30
o'clock tomorrow afternoon and a half
hour later from Frieden's church
on Schenk street, the Rev. E. A.
Schulz officiating. Burial will be made
in Fairmount cemetery on the Nash
road.
