    NEWFANE - A retired businessman
    of Newfane, Edward H.
    Brandt, South Main Street, died
    at the family home shortly before
    midnight on Wednesday following
    four years of illness.
    Born in the Town of Wilson, he
    was a son of the late Herman and
    Mary Miller Brandt. He was associated
    with the Newfane Hardware
    Company for many years.
    He was a member of the Methodist
    Church.
    Mr. Brandt is survived by his
    wife Adda Dowding Brandt, whom
    he married Dec. 3. 1903, a daughter,
    Mrs. A. Buell Arnold, Albany,
    a grandson. Leigh Arnold, a
    sister, Mrs. John Gray, Newfane,
    two brothers, Frank Brandt. Wilson
    and John Brandt. Newfane.
    Services will be held at Corwin
    Funeral Home at 4 o'clock on Sun
    day. The Rev. Clark W.. Hunt,,
    pastor of Trinity Methodist
    Church, Albany, will officiate.
    Burial will be in Corwin Ceme-
    tery.

    Funeral services for Herman Brandt,
    who died at his home. East avenue,
    Thursday afternoon. ,were held from
    the home of his son, Edward, Main
    street, Saturday afternoon. The Rev.
    Eugene J. Fluery. pastor of the local
    Methodist church, officiated.
    Mr. Brandt was born in Mecklenberg,
    Germany, in 1854. and came a
    this country when quite young, spending
    his early life in the town of Wil
    son. He was united in marriage with
    Miss Mary Miller and to them were
    born two sons, Frank, now of Wilson,
    and Edward of Newfane. She passed
    away in 1884 and late: he married Miss
    Anna Krull, who survives him. and by
    this marriage were a daughter. Mrs.
    Emory Ludwig of Lockport. and John
    of this village.
    Mrs. Brandt Is critically ill, with
    pneumonia at the East avenue home.
    Mr. Brandt was a resident of the
    town of Newfane for about forty years
    where he had won the respect and
    friendship of a large group of people
    Interment was In Corwin cemetery, the
    bearers being John Dowdrig, DeLisle
    Brookins, Fred Schweigert, William
    Kinyon, Louis Brado and Bert Schwei-
    gert.
