NIAGARA FALLS —
Truman E. "Tim" Burke, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. He was 72. He was born in Niagara Falls on September 3, 1941, a son of the late Truman O. and Marion (Wackett) Burke.
He attended local schools including 79th Street and LaSalle Senior High School, where he was quarterback of the football team, graduating in 1960. He married Roberta Bobbie Young on June 19, 1960 and they remained happily married for 53 years until his passing. Mr. Burke worked at Union Carbide as Supervisor for 25 years until its closing. He then worked at Airco Carbon Graphite for 15 years until that plant's closing. He coached Babe Ruth baseball in the 1960's where he coached Rick Manning. He was also a devoted family man and a great fan of NASCAR and the West Virginia Mountaineers and loved his winter vacations in St. Augustine Beach, Florida.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by four children, Thomas (Teresa) Burke of Niagara Falls, David Burke of Kissimmee, FL, Vickie (Randy) Aderman of Orange Park, FL, and Susan (Wayne) Zimmerman of Deltona, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joseph Burke of Corona, CA, Brian Burke of Kissimmee, FL, Eric Aderman of Orlando, FL, Randie Lynn Aderman of Orlando, FL, Christopher (Breanna) Burke of Virginia and Nicole and Amanda Burke of Niagara Falls; his great-grandson, Chase Burke of Niagara Falls; and his faithful companion, "Zippy". In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Anita Hout.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Monday from 2-7 PM where funeral services will be held at 7 PM.
