    James T. Black, age 61, of the Town of Lewiston, NY was called to his heavenly home on March 21, 2015 at his residence, while under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on February 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Sparks) Black, and stepson of the late Jean Reigstad. Jim retired from Occidental Petroleum Corporation after working 25 years. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

    Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Brenda J. (Steingasser) Black; loving daughter, Heather (Andrew) McCue of Niagara Falls; a granddaughter, Alexia McCue; brother, Joseph (Christine) Black of North Tonawanda; mother and father-in-law, Larry and Lorraine Steingasser of Sanborn; brother-in-law, Randy (Penny) Steingasser of North Tonawanda; nephews, Sean (Katherine) Winter of Youngstown and Michael (Carrie) Winter of North Hampton, NH; and several other nieces, nephews and friends; also predeceased by a sister, Bridget (Robert) Winter; and brother, John Black.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach, on Friday at 9:00 p.m. following visitation in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, or Holy Ghost Lutheran School.

    St. Christopher's Shrine was the
    setting of an impressive wedding
    ceremony on Saturday at 10 a. m.
    when Miss Mary Jane Sparks,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
    Sparks of 706 Falls blvd. was
    united with Thomas Black, son
    of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Black
    of 19 Allen street The Rev. William
    Solleder officiated at the
    double ring ceremony.
    The bride, given in marriage
    by her father, was gowned in a
    nylon taffeta gown fashioned with
    tight bodice, square yoke with
    high neckline of net. The long
    tight sleeves were edged with
    lace and the full skirt fell into a

    long train. A full length
    UrimmefL veil was caught with a
    circlet of orange blossoms, with a
    small fade veil. She wore pearls,
    the bridegroom's gift and carried
    a bouquet of lilies, mums, and
    baby breath tied with satin bows
    and shower of streamer ribbons.
    Miss Lois Sparks was her sister's
    maid of honor. She wore a
    velvet gown in a soft shade of
    green, wrth tight bodice, sweetheart
    neckline, bracelet length
    sleeves, shirred at the elbow, and
    full skirt. She wore golden flowers
    in her hair and carried' a
    bouquet of yellow mums, and
    talisman roses. Miss Margaret
    Sparks, junior bridesmaid, was
    gowned in sapphire blue velvet
    with a silver headdress and carried
    American Beauty roses, mums
    and fern. Miss Lexis Black, sister
    and the bridegroom, and Miss
    Irene Kohler also wore velvet,
    the former in American Beauty
    and the latter in periwinkle. They
    carried roses and mums.
    The best man was Donald Black,
    brother of the groom. The ushers
    Mr. Reginald Sparks, brother of
    the bride, Mr. Michael Hurley,
    nephew of the groom and Mr.
    Howard Maurer.
    Mrs. Floyd Sparks, mother of
    the bride, chose a dress of black
    sheer embroidered in white with
    black accessories. Her corsage was
    of roses and mums.
    Mrs. Alexander Black, mother
    of the groom, chose a black dress
    with matching accessories. Her
    corsage was of rotes and mums.
    The bride's grandmothers, Mrs.
    Margaret Goodman and Mrs. William
    Sparks, wore black dresses
    with matching accessories. Their
    corsages were of roses and mums.
    Preceding the Mass, Miss Jane
    Domer sang the Lord's Prayer
    and during the service Ave Marie.
    The organist was Miss Marie
    Krauss.
    A wedding breakfast was served
    at the Delaware Grill for 38 guests
    and later in the evening a recep-
    tion.
