Oscar Gronwall Sr., 83, of 486
Main St., died today (Oct. 7,
1964), in his home following a
long illness.
He was born in Sweden and
lived in this city for 46 years.
Capt. Gronwall retired in
1948 after having served 50
years as a sailor. He had
traveled all over the world.
He was a member of Salem
United Church ot Christ,
Tonawana 247, AF&AM, and
a past president of the Ship
Masters International Asso-
ciation, Lodge 1, Buffalo.
He is survived by his wife,
Hcrtha Gronwall; two sons,
Oscar H. Gronwall, Fort Lauderdale.
Fla., and H. Peter
Gronwall .North Tonawanda;
a sister, Mrs. Anna Pettersson.
Sweden, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services are being
arranged by the Hilliard Funeral
Home. The family will
be present from 34 and 7-9
