    Large baskets of white iris and gladioli were arranged at
    the Baptist Church as a background for the ceremony Friday
    evening at 7 o'clock, uniting in marriage Miss Julia D. Blackley.
    daughter of Alvin J. Blackley of RD 4. Wright's Corners, and
    Arthur A. Ries. son of Mrs. Evan Turner of Buffalo, the Rev.
    Harleigh M. Rosenberger. pastor, officiating.
    The bride wore a gown of white
    satin with a cathedral-length train
    and fitted bodice of Chantilly lace
    with a Peter Pan collar and lace
    peplum. She wore pearl earrings,
    gift of the groom, and a white lace

    half-bonnet trimmed with seed
    pearls, from which fell a fingertip
    veil of Illusion. Her bouquet
    of red roses was centered with
    white roses and lilies af the valley.
    PASTEL GOWNS WORN
    Her attendants wore gowns of
    marquisette over taffeta, with Peter
    Pan collars, peplums and full
    hoop skirts. The matron of honor,
    Mrs. Pearl Blackley, sister-in-law
    of the bride, wore pale blue. Mlaa
    Peggy Skellan and Miss Edith Ries,
    sister of the groom, bridesmaids,
    wore pale green and pale yellow,
    respectively. All wore crownless
    picture bats and gloves and carried
    iris In shades matching their
    gowns, mixed with garden flowers.
    Brenda Marie Blackley, niece
    of the bride, was flower girl,
    wearing yellow taffeta with a full
    hoop skirt trimmed with matching
    lace, the off-shoulder neckline
    forming a Bertha trimmed with
    lace. Her yellow bonnet was tied
    under her chin with a large bow
    and she wore yellow gloves. Sweet
    peas matching her gown filled the
    basket she carried.
    David Notar of Buffalo was best
    man and ushers were Irvine Barone
    and the groom's brother,
    Charles Turner, also of Buffalo.
    Robert Eberhardt was soloist.
    Mrs. Turner wore a navy blue
    dress with a white gardenia corsag
    e.
    RECEPTION TO 250
    'Baskets of Iris decorated Wright's
    Corners Fire Hall, where a reception
    to 250 guests was held, the
    bride's cake and white candles decorating
    the bridal table. Mrs. Margaret
    Garner, Mrs. Virginia Blackley
    and Mrs. Fairy Ryan assisted
    in serving.
    The couple left for a wedding
    trip to the New England States,
    the bride wearing a brown and
    white suit with matching accessories
    and a corsage of white roses.
    They will,make their home at
    30 John St.
    The bride attended Lockport
    High School and the groom was
    graduated from a radio school in
    Kansas City.
    Prenuptial events included showers
    given by Mrs. Mildred Blackley
    and Mrs. Ida McGowan, members
    of Wright's Corners Fire Company
    Auxiliary, Miss Skellan,
    Mrs. Pearl Blackley, Mrs. Ryan,
    Miss Ries and Mrs. Garner

    of No. 339 Walnut street, died at
    the City Hospital Wednesday morning,
    June 17, 1931. Besides her
    husband she is survived by five children,
    Carlisle, Clarence, James,
    Mary and Julia Blackley at home,
    one brother, Clinton Benson of Buffalo,
    N. T. Funeral services will be
    held from the Frudden Funeral
    Home, No. 343 Genesee street, Friday
    afternoon, June 10th, at 3:90.

    morning July 23rd, at,,the home
    57 Cleveland Place. He is survived by
    his wife, one daughter Mrs. Alice
    Leahn, Silver Springs; N. Y., two sons
    Charles and Alvin Blackley, four
    sisters, Mrs. D. V. O l d h a m , Mrs. Daniel
    Kline, Mrs. Hiram Poole of Lockport
    and Mrs. Alec Paine of Niagara Falls,
    N. Y., o n e b r o t h e r William Blackley
    of Lockport and eleven grand children.
    The funeral will be held on
    F r i d a y a f t e r n o o n at 2 o'clock at the
    home and 2:30 at the Calvary church,
    South street. Interment in Cold
    Springs cemetery
