    LOCKPORT - A former city
    resident who-had lived for the last
    14 years at Alden w ith his daugh-

    ter, wife of State Sen. John H.
    Cooke, died there Sunday (March
    25, 1956) after a long illness.
    Ralph B. Anson. 75, a retired,

    employe of the Railway Express
    Agency Inc., died at the home of
    his daughter. He was born here
    Nov. 27. 1880. After attending
    public 'schools here, he began working
    for Plaster News Co. and later
    became a messenger for the express
    firm. He was transferred to Rochester
    and last worked in the Buffalo
    office.
    He was a member of Lockport

    Lodge No. 73, F & AM.
    His wife. the former Eleanor

    Payne, died in 1940. In addition
    to Mrs. Cooke, he is survived by
    another daughter. Mrs. Oscar Div-
    erall. Wilmington. Del., and four
    grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 2

    p.m. Thursday at the Prudden &
    Kandt Funeral Home here by
    the Rev. Darrell J. Westlake. pastor
    of Plymouth Congregational
    Church. Burial will be in Glenwood
    Cemetery.

    Eleanor M. Anson, wife of Ralph B.
    Anson. died yesterday at the family
    home in Kenmore Both Mr. and
    Mrs. Anson were former residents of
    nils city. Mrs. Anson's mother.
    Mrs Douglas Payne, of this city,
    lied only a few days ago.
    Besides her husband. Mrs. Anson
    is survived by two daughters. Mrs.
    Oscar W. Diverall. of Old Hickory,
    Tenn . and Mrs. John H. Cooke, of
    Alden. N. Y . and two sisters. Mrs.
    Panford Gooding and Miss Louise
    Payne, both of Lockport.
    Last rites will be held from the
    Bury funeral home, 2978 Delaware
    avenue. Kenmore, on Saturday afternoon
    at 1:30 o'clock. Interment
    will be at Lockport.

    LOCKPORT, March 8 -.The
    funeral of Mrs. Clara Ripson Payne
    84, widow of Douglas Payne, who
    died Thursday at the home of her
    daughter, Mrs. Sanford Gooding, of
    Longcroft drive, will be held at 3:30
    tomorrow at the Prudden funeral
    home, 242 Genesee street. Inter-
    ment will be In Cold Spring cemetery.
    Mrs. Payne was born in Lockport
    on May 4, 1855, a daughter of
    Daniel Ripson and Eleanor irving
    Ripson, both natives of England.
    She lived all her life here and was
    a member of Plymouth Congrega-
    tlonal church.
    Two other daughters survive Mrs.
    Ralph B, Anson, of Kenmore and
    Miss Louise Payne, of this city.
