    known Auburnian. for the past
    12 years a teacher in Auburn pub-
    He schools, died this morning at
    City Hospital, following a long
    illness. Mr. Blodgett resided at
    325 North Seward Avenue.
    Mr. Blodgrt was born In
    Fredonla. Since 1928, he had teen
    a teacher of mathematics in Auburn,
    first In the Old Auburn
    Academic High School In Garden
    Street, and more recently in Senior
    , now East High School. He
    was popular with teachers and
    students and was highly regarded
    for his ability In his chosen
    field. He had been active in the
    Cayuga County Men Teachers Association
    and had served as president
    & secretary. He also was an
    instructor in the Americanization
    School.
    Mr. Blodgett was a graduate of
    Fredonla Normal School and of
    Alleghany College, Class of 1926.
    He received his Master's Degree
    at Syracuse University. He was a
    member of Second Presbyterian
    Church of this city and of the
    Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. He was
    deeply interested in school athletics.
    Surviving Mr. Blodgett are his
    wife, Mrs. Helen Kemp Blodgett:
    two sons, Richard Kemp Blodgett
    and John Landas Blodgett of Auburn;
    one sister, Mrs. Clyde Lowell
    of Fredonia; and four brothers,
    Boyd of Fredonla, Warren of
    Geneseo, Russell of Cooperstown
    and Elbert of Fredonia.
    Funeral arrangements, which
    will be in charge of Lester E.
    Brew, funeral director, were incomplete
    this afternoon.

    Loyal married KEMP, Helen on 14 Aug 1929 in Fredonia, Chautauqua County, NY. Helen (daughter of KEMP, Nelson and HINDMAN, Jessie) was born on 15 Aug 1905 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada; died on 13 Nov 1985 in Auburn, Cayuga County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Loyal L. Blodgett, son of Mr. and
    Mrs. A. J. Blodgett and Miss Helen
    Kemp, of Erie were married on Wednesday
    afternoon at the home of the
    parents.
    The ceremony was performed by
    Rev. Charles W. Walker, rector of the
    Trinity Episcopal church in the presence
    of the immediate families and
    a few close friends.
    Following the ceremony a reception
    was held at the Lawrence Hotel.
    The honeymoon will be spent in
    Canada and -the Adirondack Mountains.
    They will r e t u r n ' t o Auburn,
    N. Y. in time for the opening of
    school as both are teachers there.

    In. this village, Sunday evening,
    Jan. 3, 1909, Rev. Milo Blodgett, aged
    about 75. Mr. Blodgett has been ill
    for a long time. He was formerly a
    Methodist preacher and has lived here
    ever since he retired from the minis
    try. He was a good man, sincerely
    respected by all. Is survived by his
    wife, two son's, S. B. and Abram
    Blodgett, and four daughters: Mrs;
    Addie Bull, Mrs. Lily Weaver, Mrs.
    Minnie Pierce and Mrs. Pearl PowelL
    Funeral at the house this Wednesday
    at 10 a. m. Burial at Stockton.
