    Katherine Ann Rogers Fricano passed away, Wednesday March 4, 2015. Born on June 9, 1931 in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Myrtle V. Bloomstine Rogers. Katherine received her Master's Degree from Buffalo State College, and taught in Lockport City Schools for over 20 years as an Elementary School Art Teacher. She enjoyed the arts and tailoring clothing. Katherine married her late husband, Anthony Fricano in 1952, who passed away October 16, 2008. Katherine is survived by her children, Amy J. (Robert M. Graff) Fricano of Lockport, David A. (Shelly) Fricano of Pendleton and Karen A. Fricano of Lockport; grandmother of five; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday 1-5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.

    Syracuse St., Tonawanda, a past
    commander of Tonawandas Post 264,
    American Legion, died yesterday at
    his home.
    A native of Tonawanda and an Army
    veteran of World War I, Mr. Rogers
    had been employed at the former
    Lampe Motor Co. and Muck Motor
    Sales Inc. until he retired 12 years ago.
    He was a 50-year member of
    Tonawanda Lodge 247, F&AM.
    Survivors include his wife. Myrtle V.
    Bloomstine; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony
    Fricano; two sons, Drs. William and
    John Rogers, and nine grandchildren.

    William Bloomstine, 63 years old,
    a life-long resident of Tonawanda,
    living at 506 Delaware street, died
    yesterday afternoon at the General
    hospital, Buffalo, after a lingering;
    illness. He is survived by a wife,
    Catherine, (nee Koch); two daugh-.
    ters, Miss Sylvia Bloomstine and
    Mrs. William J. Rogers, Tonawanda;
    two sons, John G. W., Syracuse,
    and W. Gerald. Tonawanda; two
    grandchildren, a brother, George
    Bloomstine, Tonawanda, and a sister,
    Mrs. Sadie Leverenz, Tonawan-
    da.
    Mr. Bloomstine was one of the,
    best know 11 barbers and oldest in
    the Tonawandas. He took up the
    business under the employment of
    William Reeli of North Tonawanda.
    who conducted a shop over the saloon
    conducted at that time by t he
    late John Spillman. Later Mr.
    Bloomstine. opened a Bhop of his
    own in the basement of what was
    then the Lumber Exchange bank,
    now operated by Frederick Robert-
    son & Company. After conducting
    a five-chair shop there for many
    years Mr. Bloomstine opened a
    shop on Main street in North Tona-
    wanda, opposite the old New York
    Central depot In recent years
    he conducted a shop on Young
    street near Delaware street. ,
    The funeral will be held Thurs-
    day morning at 8.30 o'clock from
    the residence and half an hour
    later from the St. Francis church.
    The Very Rev. John A. Welsmantel
    will conduct the services.
