    NEWFANE — Douglas K. Gunby of Newfane, husband of Gail Blackley Gunby, entered into rest Sunday, January 12, 2014, at home. He was born in Lockport, NY, August 15, 1942.

    Doug was a US Army Vietnam veteran who served his country from 1962-1964. He was a Marksman (Rifle M-14) for the Army. He worked at Harrison Radiator for 33 years, retiring in 1999. Doug enjoyed his garden, boating and was a Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

    He was the son of the late Ruth Gunby. Father of Todd Gunby of Lockport, Brian (Angela) Gunby, Scott (Antoinette) Gunby and Tammy (Clark) Dunkelberger, all of Newfane. Loving Pa of Matthew, Noah, Connor, Luke, Sadie and Joseph Gunby, William and Jeanne Dunkelberger. Nephew of Helen (Merrill) Smith of Lockport. Brother-in-law of Mary Ann (Robert) Johnston, Sr. of Port Charlotte, FL and Debbie (Elliott) Miller of Tonawanda, NY. Also survived by his fourth son, Jeff (Laura) McDonough of Newfane.

    Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, WEDNESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held THURSDAY at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery. Memorials to Miller Hose Fire Company, PO Box 99, Newfane, NY 14108; or Olcott Fire Company, 1691 Lockport-Olcott Road, Olcott, NY 14126, would be appreciated by the family.

    Services for Harry L. Blackley,
    55, of 321 Green St., who died Saturday,
    will he held tomorrow at
    9 o'clock at the home of his father.
    Charles F. Blackley, 72 Webb
    St and at 9:30 at St. Patrick's
    Church. Burial will be in Cold
    Spring Cemetery.
    Mr. Blackley, a veteran of
    World War I, was stricken unex-
    pectedly at his home on Saturday
    with a heart attack. He was an

    inspector at the Simonds Saw and
    Steel Company where he had
    worked about 15 years. He was
    bom in this city on Sept. 30, 1896.
    Surviving besides his father are
    his wife, Mrs. Matilda Fraas
    Blackley; a son, Charles F., of
    Lockport; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice
    Crafts of Olcott; four grandchildren;
    three slsters. Mrs. O. E .
    Wagner of Niagara Falls, Mrs.
    Roy Rltz and Mrs. Eugene L.
    Smalunan of Lockport and two
    brothers, Fred W. and Milton W.

    A North Park School custodian
    who suffered a heart attack while
    walking through snowdrifts on the
    way to work Monday, died Thursday
    evening (Feb. 20, 1958) in
    Lockport Memorial Hospital. He
    was John J. Lee Sr., 59, of 529
    Walnut St.
    Born April 8, 1898 in County
    Roscommon, Ireland, he was the
    son of John and Mary Fury Lee.
    He came directly to Lockport from
    his home in 1921 and for many
    years worked as a millwright at
    the former Lockport Paper Co.,
    also referred to as the John Jack
    Paper Co., located on Mill St.; and
    the United Board and Carton Corp.
    For six years he was employed by
    Lockport City Hospital as a maintenance
    man. He joined the North
    Park School staff four years ago.
    Survivors include a son, John J.;
    four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Mc-
    Donough, Mrs. Charles Blackley.
    Patricia and JoAnn, all of Lockport;
    two brothers, William of Ireland*
    and Patrick of Alberta, Canada,
    and 16 grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Kennedy
    Funeral Home, 122 Walnut St Funeral
    services will be held there
    Monday morning at 8:30 and at
    St. John's Catholic Church at 9.
    Burial will be in St. Patrick's
    Cemetery.
