    A graduate of Newfane
    Central School, Miss Lucas
    is employed at America Fore
    Loyalty Group, Buffalo. The

    from Lockport Senior
    High School and is employed
    at Harrison Radiator, Div.,
    GMC.

    set the scene for the nuptial
    ceremony joining Miss Joanne
    Elizabeth Lucas and
    Robert Lynn Boetcher at Immanuel
    Lutheran Church,
    Ridgewood.
    The pastor, the Rev. August
    P. Kreutz performed the
    ceremony at 4:40 p.m. April
    28 for the daughter of Mrs.
    Wilhelmina Lucas, Hatter
    Road, Newfane. The groom is
    the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
    Boetcher, Franklin Ave.,
    Lockport.
    The bride, who was given In
    marriage by her brother-inlaw,
    Robert Staples, wore a
    floor length dress of silk organza
    with a scalloped neckline
    of rose point lace. Three
    tiers of lace formed die bottom
    of the skirt accenting the
    roses that surrounded the bottom.
    A cabbage rose headpiece
    held her elbow length
    veil of silk illusion. She carried
    a cascade bouquet of
    white roses.
    The bride's sister, Mrs.
    Charles Thursam, as matron
    of honor wore a floor length
    dress of peach colored taffeta
    with a rounded neckline
    and elbow length sleeves and
    matching headpiece. She also
    ware elbow length gloves.
    Peach colored roses formed
    her cascade bouquet.
    Dressed In nUe green taffeta
    with matching headpieces
    were the bridesmaids,
    Mrs. William Briggs, Miss
    Linda Feltz, and Miss Linda
    Herl. Each carried a cascade
    bouquet of peach colored
    rosea. The bride's niece, Kelly
    Thursam. as flower girl,
    wore a floor length dress of
    white embroidered organdy
    over peach colored taffeta
    with matching headpiece. She
    carried a basket of roses.
    Woodrow Staples, t h e
    bride's nephew, acted at ring
    bearer. The groom's brother,
    Walter Boetcher, acted as
    best man. Ushering guests to
    pews were Paul Ames, David
    Fiegel and Richard Riddle.
    The bride's mother selected
    a beige chiffon and lace dress
    with coral and coffee accessories
    and a coral rose corsage.
    The bridegroom's mother
    wore a blue lace over taffeta
    ensemble with a rose corsage.
    The grandmothers of
    the bride and bridegroom had
    rose corsages.
    A buffet dinner and reception
    for 300 guests and was
    held at the Newfane Fire Hall
    where the bride's table was
    centered by a four tier wedding
    cake, flanked by the attendants'
    bouquets. Music was
    by Don Keller and his orchestra.
    When the bride left for a
    honeymoon trip with the bridegroom
    to Montreal, Canada,
    she wore a cinnamon brown
    suit with beige accessories
    and a white rose corsage.
    They will make their home
    at 282 High St., Lockport.
    The bride is a graduate of
    Newfane Central School, Mr.
    Boetcher is a graduate of
    Lockport Senior High School.
    Before her marriage, the
    bride was guest of honor at
    several showers. A bathroombedroom
    shower given by her
    bridesmaids at Green Acres
    Restaurant. A kitchen shower
    was given by the bride's
    aunts, Mrs. Flovd Connors.
    Mrs. Walter Gow, Mrs. John
    Verguson. and the bride's sisters,
    Mrs. Robert Staples and
    Mrs. Charles Thursam.
    A variety shower was held
    by Mrs. Harold Riddle, Mrs,
    Leverne Riddle and Mrs.
    Lloyd Riddle. Another variety
    shower was given by Mrs. Edward
    Israel, Mrs. Edward
    Lewis, Mrs. Leanora Scott,
    and Mrs. Robert Wall. A dinner
    was held by the girls of
    The America Fore Loyalty Insurance
    Group at Leonardo's
    Restaurant, Buffalo.
    The rehearsal party was
    hosted by the bridegrooms
    parents.

    LOCKPORT - Walter W
    Boetcher, 74, of 16 Franklin
    Ave., here, died Thursday (Jan.
    21, 1971) at Kenmore Mercy
    Hospital after a long illness.
    Born in Clarence, July 15,
    1897, he was the son of Herman
    and Augusta Bluhm Boetcher.
    He retired in 1964 from the
    Harrison Radiator Division of
    General Motors Corp., where he
    worked int he tool and die
    department for 33 years.
    He was a member of the First
    Baptist Church, Local 686 of
    the United Auto Workers,
    retired, the Old Guard, and was
    an active bowler.
    He is survived by his widow,
    the former Pearl E. Riddle;
    a son, Robert L. Boetcher; a
    daughter, Mrs. Paul (Joyce)
    Ames; three sisters, Mrs.
    Lenora Scott, Mrs. Edward
    Israel and Mrs. Olvie Lewis,
    all of this city; eight
    grandchildren, and several
    nieces and nephews.
    Mr. Boetcher was also the
    father of the late Walter W. Boetcher Jr.
    Begining today, friends may
    call from 2 to 4 and from 7
    to 9 pm. at the Prudden and
    Kandt Funeral Home, where
    services will be held Sunday
    at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.
    Leland Roth officiating.

    were Leland Coash, Arthur
    Israel, Ronald Gifford, Harold Riddle,
    Lloyd Riddle, and Eben Strong.
    Burial in Cold Springs Cemetery.

    RIDGEWOOD - Ernest Sahr.
    82. a retired Appleton farmer who
    had lived here for the last year
    and a half, died today (Sept. 4,
    1958) at the home of a daughter.
    He suffered a lengthy illness.
    Mr. Sahr had resided at the home
    of Mrs. Floyd Conner, Ridge Rd..
    since retiring in 1957, He had
    farmed all his life in the Hess
    Rd., Newfane. He was bom in
    Newfane Aug. 30, 1872.
    Surviving him are three other
    daughters. Mrs. Frederick Fredericks,
    Wilson, Mrs. Francis Hand,
    Lockport. and Mrs. Woodrow
    Lucas, Newfane; three sons, Carl
    J. Sahr, Appleton, Walter Sahr and
    George Sahr, both of Lockport:
    five sisters, Mrs. Martha Wagner.
    Appleton, Mrs. Dora Bendt, Lockport,
    Mrs. Gertrude Seelow, Ridgewood,
    Mrs. Matilda Volschow,
    Lockport. and Mrs. Mary Stolzenberg,
    Appleton; and a brother,
    George Sahr, Newfane. There are
    several grandchildren And nieces
    and nephews.
    Funeral arrangements arc being
    made by the Glenn H. Corwin
    Funeral Home, Newfane.

    BURT, N. Y., Sept. 27 - Mrs
    Lizzie Sahr, 64, died last night in
    her home, in the Drake Settlement
    road, following several months ill
    health. Mrs. Sahr was born in Cambria
    Center and had lived in the
    Town of Newfane for 45 years.
    Surviving her are her husband,
    Ernest Sahr, four daughters, Mrs.
    Fred Frederick, of Wilson, N. Y.,
    Mrs. Floyd Connor, of Ridgewood, N.
    Y., Mrs. Louis Hanel, of Lockport,
    and Mrs. Woodrow Lucas, of Mlddleport,
    N.Y.; three sons, Private
    First Class Karl Sahr, of the United
    States Army in the Pacific, Walter
    Sahr, of the Ide road, Town of
    Newfane, and George Sahr, of
    Lockport; one brother, John Kolbow,
    of Wilson, N. Y., and one sister,
    Mrs. Louis Baldwin, of Newfane,
    N.Y. She also leaves eleven
    grandchildren.
    The funeral rites will be conducted
    Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at
    the family home and at 2:30 In 8t.
    John's Lutheran church in the
    Drake Settlement road. The Rev.
    William H. Dahlmann will officiate.
    Interment will be at Wright's Corners
    cemetery.
