NORTH TONAWANDA - Doris Marian Stringfellow (nee Martin), age 78, passed away March 19, 2014, following a brief illness. Mrs. Stringfellow was born January 10, 1936 in North Tonawanda, daughter of the late William and Myrtle (nee Peters) Martin. Mrs. Stringfellow was very active in the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451 Auxiliary where her husband was an active post member. Wife of the late Fred C. Stringfellow; beloved mother of Carol A. (Don) Scalice, Barbara J. (Ted) Bunce, Terri L. (Jay) Nealen and Fred C. (Wendy) Stringfellow; devoted grandmother of Nicholas (Jamie) Scalice, Jennifer (Jonathan) Payne, Joseph Scalice, Matthew Scalice, Jonathan Shafer, Andrew and Caroline Stringfellow and Claire Nealen; great-grandmother of four; sister of Jean Siegmann, Carol VeRost, Donna Stec, Francis Lewis, Edna Sokol, Shirley Weich, late Walter Smith, late Arlene Kuehn, late Lillian Kolbe, late William, late Albert, late Eugene Martin and late Loretta Weich; also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends may call SATURDAY from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the WATTENGEL Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION), 533 Meadow Drive, N. Tonawanda, where services will be held at 11:00 AM. WILLIAM AUGUST MARTIN
William August Martin, 54, of 690 Ruie Rd., died Monday morning in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of the Town of Wheatfield.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, nee Peters; a stepson, Walter Smith of Niagara Falls; three sons, Eugene, William Jr. and Albert of North Tonawanda; 10 daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kuehn, Mrs. Herbert Kolbe, Mrs. Benjamin Weich, Mrs. Joseph Weich, Edna, Doris, Jean, Frances, Donna Lou and Carol; 11 grandchildren; seven brothers, Henry of North Tonawanda, Albert of Tonawanda, and Fred, Emery, George, Gustav and Walter of the Town of Wheatfield; one sister, Mrs. Fred Schimschack of the Town of Wheatfield. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., the Rev. William Saye officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Myrtle F. Martin. Services were held this morning at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd for Mrs. Myrtle F. Martin who died Friday Oct 10, 1975 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Surviving are four sons, Walter E. Smith of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Eugene W., William J., and Albert T. Martin, all of North Tonawanda; ten daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Lillian) Kolbe of Gasport, Mrs. Joseph (Arlene) Kuehn, Mrs. Benny (Loretta) Wiech, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Wiech, Mrs. Donald (Edna) Sokal, Mrs. Fred (Doris) Stringfellow, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Siegmann, Mrs. Bob (Frances) Lewis, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Stec, Mrs. Russell (Carol) VeRost, all of North Tonawanda; 47 grandchildren ; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Lincoln and Mrs. Iva Madison both of Cherry Creek, NY and Mrs Albert (Eva ) Finkle of Kenmore, NY, a brother Henry Peters of Cherry Creek NY. Interment was held in Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev Thomas S Wood officiating. If so, Memorials may be made to the Third Presbyterian Church.

ALBERT MARTIN
Albert Martin, 84 years oid, well known resident of the town of Wheatfield for many years, who resided on the Ward road, died yesterday morning in a Buffalo hospital. He was born in Germany. He came to the town of Wheatfield 54 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Augusta; eight sons, Henry, Emory, and William A., North Tonawanda, Fred, Albert, Jr., and George, town of Wheatfield. August, Niagara Falls, and Walter, New York city; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Schimschack, Wheatfield; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Schimshack, on the Ward road. Burial wil be in the St. Mark's cemetery.

Albert married STENZEL, Auguste Maria Louise about 1881 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY. Auguste (daughter of STENZEL, Christian and SPALDING, Dorothea Sophia) was born on 29 Mar 1859 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY; died on 9 Jan 1937 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY.
