George H Cooper, 83, died Fri.
day at his home In Lyndonvllle
after a long illness. He was en-
gaed in farming until his retire-
ment several years ago.
Mr. Cooper ia survived by his
wife, Mrs. Flora B. Cooper; two
sons, Fred J. and George L. Cooper
of Lyndonville; one daughter,
Mrs, Harry Welch of Lyndonville;
one brother, Albert Cooper; ten
grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted
Sunday afternoon by Rev
Harry A. Depfer, Burial was in
Lynhaven Cemetery.

George married BOWEN, Flora on 11 May 1881. Flora (daughter of BOWEN, William and BULLEN, Julia) was born on 19 Jul 1859 in Town of Somerset, Niagara County, NY; died on 28 Jan 1948 in Lyndonville, Town of Yates, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

daughter. Miss Delia Smith, at
tauded the funeral Sunday at the
Smythe Funeral Home. Lyndonvtlle.
of Mrs. Smith's sister. Mrs.
Flora Cooper, Lyndonville. Another
sister, Mrs. Delia Mudge. and son,
Francis, Jamestown, were guests at
the Smith home and attended the
funeral.

LYNDONVILLE. Jan. 30 - A
church worker, Mrs. Flora E. Cooper,
88. died Wednesday at Medina Memorial
Hospita. where she had been
ill with pneumonia for a week.
Born in Somerset July 19. 1859.
me daughter of William and Helen
Bullem Bowen, she married George
H. Cooper May 11. 1881. and resided
in Yates her entire married life. Mr.
Cooper died May 26. 1943.
Mrs. Cooper, who was a member
of the Lyndonville Presbvterian
Church and the Worthwhile Class
of that church, took part in church
work until three years ago when
she suffered a broken hip.
Survivors are two sons, Fred and,
George of Lyndonvllle; one daugh-'
ter, Mrs, Henry Welch, Upland, Cal :
two sisters. Mrs Warren Smith. Bar
ker and Mrs. Delia Mudge, Lakewood;
nine grandchildren. and 11
great-grandchildren. A grandson,
Harry Cooper, was killed in action
in Germany in 1944.
Services will be held Sunday at 2
o'clock at the Smythe Funeral Home
with the Rev. Thomas Tighe, pastor
of the Presbyterian Church, of-
flciating. Burial will be in Lynhaven
Cemetery with the grandsons acting
as bearers.

The death of Mrs. Julia Bowen, a
lifelong resident of the town of
Somerset, near County Line, occurred
this morning at eight o'clock at the
home of her son, Mr. Linus Bowen, of
Carmon road, aged 83 years.
Mrs. Bowen was the daughter of
Josiah and Phoebe Bullen, old pioneer
settlers who bought Tend from a land
company and built their home. In
those days, when going to the mill at
Lyndonville, Mr. Bullen would have

Deceased was the mother of ten
children, aevea of whom are still living:
one son, Linus Bowen, of Cannon
road; and six daughters, Mrs. Hattip
Pierce, of Carman road, Mrs. Elma
Bruce, of Barker, Mrs. George Cooper,
of Lyndonville, Mrs. Charles Annis:
of Barker, Mrs. Adella Mudge, of
Lockport, and Mrs. Ward Smith, of
Medina. She is also survived by
eighteen grandchildren and thirteen
great grandchildren. Mrs. Hila Poler,
of this place, is a daughter-in-law of
the deceased.
