    The marriage of Vivian C. Rutter,
    daughter of Mr., and Mrs. Lester
    Rutter of Elmwood avenue to Norman
    J. Bower, son of John Bower
    of Rochester street, was solemnized
    Wednesday afternoon in the First
    English Lutheran church, with the
    Rev. Ivan L. Lange officiating.
    The church was decorated with
    white peonies, syrlnga, palms and
    ferns banked about the alter.
    The bride, who was given in marriage
    by her father, wore a bridal
    gown of white lace over a white
    taffeta slip and her finger-tip veil
    with a satin halo was held In place
    with a spray of orange blossom*. She
    wore white satin sandals and 'carried
    bride's roses and gypaophila.
    Miss Dorothy Royce of Buffalo was
    bridesmaid and her gown was powder
    blue chiffon over a blue slip. Her
    headdress was a floral halo of white
    roses and sweetpeas. She also wore
    white sandals and carried a bouquet
    of pink roses and delphinium.
    Donald Bower, brother of the groom,
    acted as best man and Monroe Federsplel
    and Walter Hllger were
    ushers.
    Mrs. Rutter, mother of the bride,
    wore a Burgandy chiffon dress with
    hat to match and a shoulder cor-
    sage of talisman roses.
    A reception or 45 guests was later
    held at the home of the bride, where
    the rooms were attractively arranged
    with gift bouquets. The bride's cake
    was a white, three-tiered one topped
    by a miniature bride and groom.
    After the reception the couple
    left for New York, Atlantic City
    and points east, after which they
    will reside at 163 Elmwood avenue.
    The bride's going-away suit was of
    navy blue print with a cape of
    taupe and hat to match, with which
    she wore white accessories.
    Out of town guests were from
    Buffalo. Niagara Falls Tonawanda,
    Welland, Out., and Picton, Ont.
    The bride was honored with several
    delightful showers Including a
    veriety shower given by Miss Dean's
    class of girls of the First English
    Lutheran church, a linen shower
    given by Mrs. Gordon Hayes and a
    personal shower given by the bride's
    aunt, Mrs. Charles Rutter. The guest
    of honor received many lovely and
    useful gifts.
