    is scheduled for March 23.

    A lovely spring wedding was
    solemnized in the Pierce avenue
    Presbyterian church on March 23,
    when Miss Amy Bowie,, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Peter L. Bowie, of
    Pierce avenue, became the brie of
    Mr. Edward A.. Tomes, Jr., son of
    Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Tomes,, Sr. of
    Spruce avenue. The Rev. Richard
    Alan Davis pastor, officiated at the
    double-ring ceremony.
    Mr. Walter McDannel presided at
    the organ and Miss Vanorma Phillips,
    soloist, sang "Through the
    Years." "Because" and at the close
    of the ceremony, The 'Lord's
    Prayer.'*
    The bride, wearing a beautiful
    gown of white brocaded satin with
    a net yoke, entered the church on
    the arm of her father. Her only
    jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift
    of the bridegroom, and her bouquet
    consisted of two orchids from which
    hung white satin streamers tied
    with white sweet peas. Her fingertip
    veil fell from a Juliet cap trimmed
    with orange blossoms.
    The maid of honor. Miss Mary
    Lou Hall, was attractively gowned
    in nile green marquisette, and carried
    a Colonial bouquet of roses and
    sweet peas.
    Miss Betty Swift and Miss Margaret
    Bowie, a* sister of the bride,
    were the bridesmaids, wearing
    gowns of similar design, Miss Swift
    in coral and Miss Bowie In pale
    green. Both carried Colonial bouquets
    of roses and sweet peas.
    Mr. Kenneth L. Bowie, brother of
    the bride, acted as best man, with
    the Messrs. Oeorge Kaiser, John
    Bownman, Paul Schmoyer and
    Robert Bowie as ushers.
    The mother of the bride was attractively
    attired in a lovely frock
    of black and white, with matching
    accessories, and a corsage of gardenias.
    The bridegroom's mother
    was 'charming In a frock of fuschla
    and black with matching accessories.
    She wore a corsage of gardenias.
    The reception was held in the
    Terrace Room of the Hotel Niagara.
    The out-of-town guests; Included
    Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Mays, of Baltimore,
    Md.;'Mrs. Curtis W. Haug, of
    Newton, Mass.; Mrs. George A.
    Bowie, of Washington, D. C; Mrs.
    J. Smith, Miss Amy Smith and Mr.
    James Smith of Toronto. Out.
    The bride chose for traveling a
    green gabardine suit with yellow
    accessories and corsage of orchids.
    The bride and bridegroom spent
    their honeymoon at Limberlost
    Lodge, Huntsville. Ont„ and are
    now residing at 2007 Main street.

    Peter L. Bowie, 73, of 2713
    Pierce Ave., operator of a
    plumbing-and heating supply
    business,' died Sunday (Nov.
    20, 1960) at Memorial Hospital
    after a two-week illness.
    • A native of- Islay, Scotland,
    he came to this city in 1918
    where he worked for several'
    plutaibing ' concerns. In 1931,
    he- established-the- Bo w i e
    Plumbing and Heating.Supply
    Co., in which he was. active
    until the time of his death.
    He was a member of the-Niagara
    Frontier Association "of
    Industrial and Domestic Heat;
    ing, Plumbing and Piping
    Contractors, Inc.
    • Active' 'in Bpy Scout work,
    Mr. Bowie, was a committeeman
    for Troop No. '12, Pierce
    Avenue Presbyterian "Church.
    He was also an ardent fisherman,
    On Nov. 2, he and his wife,
    Florence , M. Bowie, marked
    their 50th wedding anniversary.
    Besides his widow, he is
    s u r v i v e d by three sons,
    George. A, Bowie, Michigan
    City, Ind. and Kenneth L.,
    and Robert D.:. Bowie, this
    city; three daugnters, Mrs.
    Curtis . W, Haug, Jamestown;
    Mrs; Edward Tomes, Kenmore
    and Mrs. David Williams,
    Toriawanda; a sister
    Mrs. M. J. Smith.Toronto,
    Ont; .two brothers, Alex
    Bowie, DaVenport, Iowa, and
    William Bowie, Dublin, Ireland,
    and 10,grandchildren..
    ' Rev. A. Ferman Kearney,
    D.D., will conduct the. funeral
    service at 2 p.m. Wednesday
    at 'the Cornell and 'Daggett,
    Funeral Chapel Inc.;
