    LOCKPORT -
    Bruce M. Seeloff passed away on February 17, 2014 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. Born in North Tonawanda on November 7, 1930, he was the son of Frederick and Edith (Bowler) Seeloff.
    Bruce served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the City of Lockport for 33 years where he was a fireman retiring as a Lieutenant in 1986. He was a member of the Lock City Firefighter Association, IAFF #963 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on model RR.
    Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine (Sharpe) Seeloff of Lockport; father of Michael (Debbie) Seeloff, Jacqueline Sas, Terri (Donald) Sherman and Mark Seeloff, all of Lockport; grandfather of Michael (Eunice) Seeloff, Craig (Michele) Sherman, Christopher (Beth) Sherman, Andrew (Samantha) Heschke, Tiffany Seeloff, Alexandria Seeloff, Joel Heschke, Andrea Seeloff, Lisa (Robert) Szpilewski, Jennifer (Randy) Sullivan, Rene (Andy) Breen and Nathan Sherman; great-grandfather of Haliegh Seeloff, Patrick Sherman, Madeleine Sherman, Makaleigha Sherman, Melissa Sherman, Delilah Heschke, Tyler and Conner Sullivan and Morgan and Kennedy Szpilewski; brother of the late Norval and George Seeloff. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, February 20th from 1-4 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will immediately follow at 4 PM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Lockport Rescue Fund c/o LFD, Lock City Benevolent Association, 1 Locks Plaza, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.

    R. Seeloff, 70, of 143 N. Transit
    Road, died Sunday (Aug.
    8, 1885) at Lockport Memorial
    Hospital.
    Mrs. Seeloff was born July
    18, 1885, in Lockport, daughter
    of George and Harriet
    Bowler. She was the widow
    of Frederick Seeloff who died
    Dec. 13, 1858. She lived in
    Lockport most of her life but
    resided in North Tonawanda
    from 1818 to 1939.
    Survivors I n c l u d e three
    sons, Norval, George and
    Bruce Seeloff, all of Lockport;
    two brothers, George Bowler,
    Rochester, and Norval Bowl-
    ST, Lockport, and six grand*
    children.
    Services will be held at 11
    a.m. Wednesday at the Prudden
    and Kandt Funeral Home.
    Rev. Gordon BendeT, of Assembly
    of God Church, will
    officiate. Burial will be in
    Cold Springs Cemetery.

    George H. Bowler died this Wednesday
    morning August 3rd at the home
    123 N Transit Road. He i s survived by
    his wife, Harriett, one daughter, Mrs.
    Fred Seelof, Tonawanda; four sons,
    George, Paul, Norval. and Albert Bowler,
    Lockport; four sisters and four
    brothers. Funeral on Friday afternoon
    at 2.30 from the home. Interment will
    be In Cold Springs cemetery.

    Lockpioxt. Feb, 17.-Mrs. Eliza Mapes
    Bowler, who was fatally burned at her
    home in North Transit road yesterday,
    her seventy-sixth birthday, died early
    today at her home. No one was present
    in the kitchen where It is presumed
    het dress caught fire, it is believed
    while seh was taking meat from the
    even or fixing the fire, although her
    sister, Mrs. Mary Smith, who lived with
    her was in another part of the house
    at the time. *
    Mrs. Bowler was first noticed by a
    daughter, Mrs Edward Weaver, who
    lives on the opposite side of the road,
    from her home, who saw, her rolling
    in the snow. She ran to her mother's
    assistance and extinguished flames
    which enveloped her. but not before
    the woman was badly burned in all
    parts of the body. Although partly
    conscious at first. Mrs. Bowler was unable
    to tell how she received her burns,
    owing to her sufferings.
    Deceased was the widow of Vincent
    Bowler and is survived by five sons,
    George, Samuel, Richard and Garfield
    Bowler and Former Supervisor Vincent
    Bowler, all of Lockport; four daughters.
    Mrs. Edward Weaver and Mrs.
    Frank Lambert, this city; Mrs. William
    Bennett, Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs.
    George Robinson, Titusville, Pa., and.
    one brother, James Mapes of North
    Dakota. Also by two sisters, Delia.
    Mapes of North Dakota and Mrs. Mary
    Smith, this city. The funeral will be
    held tomorrow afternoon from the residence
    of her son, Vincent Bowler, Old
    Niagara road, with Interment at Cold
    Spring cemetery.
