    Thomas J. ''Tom'' Skrzypek, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at De Graff Memorial Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 15, 1938 he was the son of the late Frank J. and Josephine (Jaruszavicus) Skrzypek and attended local schools.


    He entered the United States Navy on September 26, 1955 serving with the Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 31. He was honorably discharged on April 3, 1959 as an Airman. After serving his country, Tom worked for the Carborundum Corp and later at Washington Mills, until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and horse racing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their events.


    He is survived by his children, Jeff(Liz) Skrzypek, Tom Skrzypek II and Kelly(John) Spatorico; grandchildren Casey, Abbey Skrzypek and Griffin, Austin and Paige Spatorico; brothers Don(Terry)Skrzypek, Frank (late Ruth) Skrzypek; sister Pat(Bob)Carges and sister in-law, Freda (late Jim) Bowman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne M.(Bowman) Skrzypek on July 26, 2014; infant son, Patrick Skrzypek and brother Robert Skrzypek.


    Friends may call Tuesday, January 3rd from 7-9 PM & Wednesday, January 4th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 5th at St. Vincent DePaul Parish (Prince of Peace site), 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jeffrey L. Nowak officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial with Military honors following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

    Thomas married BOWMAN, Jeanne Marie on 13 Oct 1956 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. Jeanne (daughter of BOWMAN, Frederick W) was born on 12 Mar 1935 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 26 Jul 2014 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    The marriage of Miss Jeanne Marie Bowman, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bowman, B St., and Thomas
    Joseph Skrzypek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skrzypek,
    Rhode Island Ave. was solemnized this morning (Oct. 13,
    1956) at 10 o'clock in St. George's Church. The Rev. Joseph
    Augunus performed the double-ring ceremony.
    " Given in marriage by her
    father, the bride carried a prayer
    book adorned with a white or-
    chid. Her b r i d a l gown was
    French Chantilly lace. fashioned
    with* an illusion neckline of
    net, offset with a mandarin collar.
    A- queen's pointed crown.
    covered with mother of pearl
    tear drops, held her fingertip
    veil.
    Miss Rose Marie DeMarco.
    maid of honor, was attired in a
    shrimp gown of nylon chiffon
    over taffeta. The Misses Christine
    Boston. Rebecca Stevens,
    and Nannette Tyrrell, bridal at-
    tendants wore similar gowns in
    lavender. romance blue and pink.
    Priscilla Newson was flower girl.
    Francis Skrzypek. brother of
    the bridegroom was best man.
    Ushers were James Bowman,
    brother of the bride, and Donald
    Skrzypek and Robert Skrzypek,
    brothers of the bridegroom.
    Wayne Jaruzawicus, was ring
    bearer.
    A breakfast was served in St.
    G e o r g e s Church Hall, where a
    reception will be held tonight.
    The mother of the bride will
    receive in a blue lace over taffeta
    cocktail dros. while the
    mother of the bridegroom has
    chosen a lavender rose lace over
    taffeta cocktail dress.
    For a honeymoon to New
    York City the bride will wear a
    charcoal gray wool sheath dress.
    The couple will reside a: the
    Navy Base in Patunent River,
    Md.. while the bridegroom concludes,
    his duties in the U. S.
    Navy.
