    956 Sweet Home Rd., Town of Am-
    herst, died Thursday in Meyer
    Memorial Hospital after a linger-
    ing illness. Born in Tonawanda, he
    had lived in the Town of Amherst
    for the past ten years. He was em-
    ployed by Loblaw Inc., for the
    past 16 years and was a member of
    the Truck Driver's Union Loca
    619. He is survived by his wife,
    Selma, nee Rockenbrock; two
    daughters, Mrs. Gloria Geib and
    Mrs. Ruth Sykes; one grandson,
    Carl William Geib, all of the Town
    of Amherst; one brother, Clarence
    Bemdt of Oswego; two sisters, Mrs.

    Robert C. Metcalf and Mrs. Irene
    Dauphin of North Tonawanda; several
    nieces and nephews. Funeral
    services will be Sunday at 3 p.m.
    in the Hilliard Funeral Home, 147
    Delaware St. Dr. Archibald F.
    Fulton of the United Presbyterian
    Church at Curtiss Park will offici-
    ate and burial will be in Elmlawn

    A very pretty wedding was solemnized
    last evening at the home of Mrs.
    Hanna Rockenbrock, 137 William
    street when her daughter Selma was
    united in marriage to Ernest Berndt
    of Tonawanda. The ceremony was
    performed by Rev. Andrew Hills and
    took place under an arch of daises
    hanked with baskets of peonies. The
    bride was given in marriage by Mr.
    W. Fields.
    She was gowned in grey canton
    crepe with trimmings of pearls. She
    carried a bridal bouquet of white roses
    and sweet peas. Her headress was of
    pearls. Her maid of honor was Miss
    Ruth Lueders who was gowned in
    coral brocaded crepe with lace trimmings.
    She carried pink roses and
    pink sweetpeas. Her headdress was
    a silver band.
    Virginia Wulf, cousin of the bride,
    acted as flower girl. She was gowned
    in yellow voile with trimmings of
    lace and carried a basket of yellow
    tea roses.
    The groom was attended by Alex
    Rockenbrock, brother of the bride.
    Decorations were carried out in a,
    color scheme of pink and white.
    Covers for twelve were laid at the
    With a, wedding cake. There were,
    sixty guests. Mr. and Mrs. E, Berndt:
    left for a wedding journey to Detroit.
    Michigan, and on their return will
    be home in 137 William street, after July 1.

    Ernest F. Berndt, 83, died suddenly
    last night of a heart attack
    in his home, 19 Ganson St. Born
    in Germany, he had resided in
    North Tonawanda since he was
    three years old. He was a member
    of North Star Lodge, 337,
    Knights of Pythias. He had been
    in the employ of the R. T. Jones
    Lumber Company since the company
    began business on Tonawanda
    Island 37 years ago. Surviving
    are two daughters, Mrs.
    Robert Metcalf and Mrs. Irene
    Dauphin of the Tonawandas; two
    sons, Ernest Jr. of Buffalo and
    Clarence of Oswego; two brothers,
    Edward of St. Catherines and
    John of North Tonawanda. Friends
    may call at the Wattengel Funeral
    Home, 307 Oliver St., where
    funeral services will be held Saturday
    at 2 p.m. The Rev. Clarence
    L. Braun will officiate. Burial
    will be in the City Cemetery,
    Tonawanda.

    Mrs. Elisabeth Berndt, 41 years old,
    wife of Ernest C Berndt died at her
    home, No. 232 William street, this
    morning after a lingering illness. Besides
    her husband, two sons, Clarence
    and Ernest Berndt and two daughters,
    Atlas and Irene Berndt, all of Tonawanda,
    survive. The funeral will be
    held at the home next Sunday afternoon.
    Mrs. Berndt was a member of
    Empire review, L, O. T. M., of Tonawursa.
