Clayton, Oct 17.-Rites for the
late Augustus F. Brabant, prominent
local business man, who died
suddenly at his home late Sunday
afternoon from heart trouble, were
held from St. Mary's church here
this morning.
About'75 members of Thousand
Island Council, No. 350, Knights of
Columbus, of which Mr. Brabant
was a charter member, formed a
part of the congregation. Many
out-of-twn friends were mingled
with his local friends.
High mass was sung by Rev.
Father George Racette, pastor of
the church, Rev P. J. Murphy, and
the Rt. Rev. Mgr. P. S. Gerand of
Ogdensburg.
The bearers, all prominent busi-
nes men and intimate friends of
the deceased were: W. S. Brooks,
John Bertrand, George R. Kenyon,
Robert D. Grant, all of Clayton,
and James Slack and Mr. Ayers of
Watertown.

CLAYTON - Mrs. Philomena
E. Brabant, 90, of 829 State
street, died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday
at the Madonna Home,
Watertown, where she had been
a patient nearly a year. Prior
to entering Madonna Home, she
had been at Mercy hospital, Watertown.
The funeral will be Friday at
8:30 a.m. at the Cummings funeral
home and at 9 a.m. at
St. Mary's church, Rt. Rev.
Msgr. Dennis E. Lynch, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in St.
Mary's cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home Thursday from 3
to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.,
She is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Walter H. (Louise
Belanger) Brabant, Clayton;
four grandchildren, Stephen M.
Brabant, Pompano Beach, Fla.,
Mrs. John (Sharrell) Brown,
Syracuse, Mrs. William (Jane
Ann) Kirsch, Buffalo, Miss Florence
Rice, a student at Buffalo
State University college, and
two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brabant was born in
Clayton Feb. 6, 1877, a daughter
of Benjamin and Sophia Bertrand
Thibault. She was married
twice.
She was first married to W.
Alden Belanger. He died and
she was married to Augustus F.
Brabant, who also died. Mrs.
Brabant continued to operate
cottages on State street after
her husband's death.

Leander + Clophia. Clophia was born in Apr 1833 in Canada; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
