    orial parkway, died yesterday at Mt.
    St. Mary's hospital after an illness
    Of four months. She was 43.
    Mrs. Skimin. who was born in
    Buffalo and was brought to this
    city at the age of two. uas the
    daughter of the late Timothy and
    Mars Murphy, She was active in
    church affairs and interested in pub- Chestnut Ridge. She was a member
    lie school activities through the work
    of the Altar and Rosary society of

    of her husband, Edmund J. Skimin,
    a high school teacher.
    She was a member of the St.
    Mary's Mothers' Health club, the
    Ladies of Charity, Ladies Catholic
    Benevolent association and the
    TenthStreet Mothers' club.
    Survivors, in addition to her hus-
    band, include three children, Ann C.
    Edmund J., Jr., and Patricia C.; three
    sisters, Hannah T. Murphy, Cather-
    ine P. Murphy and Mrs. John C.
    Johnstone, and a brother, Timothy
    J. Murphy, all of this city.
    Funeral services will be at the
    family home at 8:15 a.m. Saturday
    and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's church.
    Interment will be in Gate of Heaven
    cemetery.

    Edmond J. Skimin. 69. of 539 Memorial
    parkway, a locomotive engi-
    neer for the New York Central rail-
    road company, died last evening at
    Mount St. Mary's hospital. He had
    suffered a stroke ln Syracuse. N. Y..
    on June 8 and had been bedridden
    since that time.
    Born near Thorold, Ont.. Mr.
    Skimin came to this city shortly before
    the turn of the century and
    was first associated with the old
    IRC trolley line between this received a
    city and Buffalo. He Joined the em-
    ploy of the New York Central In
    1904 and was engineer on the Twen-
    tieth Century Limited between Buf-
    falo and Syracuse before his illness.
    He was a member of St. Mary's of
    the Cataract church and the Holy
    Name society of that church. He was
    also a member of the Knights of
    columbus and of the Brotherhood of
    Locomotive Enginemen and Fireman
    and the Brotherhood of Locomotive
    Engineers, serving as chief engineer
    of the latter organization when it
    was first formed in this city several
    years ago.
    He is survived by his wife, Anna
    C. Skimin, and by two sons, Edmond
    J. Jr., and Francis J. all of this
    city and by four brothers, William
    a., Jacob V., Andrew J. of this city
    and George J. of Detroit, Mich., and
    five sisters, Mrs. George V. Allen, of
    Mount Vernon, N.Y., Mrs. William
    Monan, of Blaisdell, N.Y., Mrs.
    Mrgaret Caher, of Buffalo, Mrs.
    Mary Landers, of Buffalo and Mrs.
    Richard Monan, of this city. Two
    grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral arrangements will be an-
    nounced later.

    Mrs. Anna C. Skimin, who
    was 89 on Monday, died today
    ( A p r i l i8, 1962) in Mt. St.
    Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Skimin
    was a patient at Niagara Convalescent
    Home for 11 years.
    She was t a k e n to Mt. St.
    Mary's Tuesday.
    A native of this city, she
    lived as a girl in Willow Avenue.
    For more than 30 years
    she resided In Memorial Parkway.
    Her husband, Edmond J.
    Skimin Sr., a New York Central
    railroad engineer, died in
    1945.
    Mrs. Skimin was a member
    of the local units of the Ladies
    Catholic Benevolent Association
    and the Grand International
    Auxiliary of the Brotherhood
    ojf Locomotive Engineers.
    She was a charter member
    of the local chapter of the
    latter.
    Surviving are two sons, Edmond
    J. Skimin Jr., a North
    Junior High School teacher
    here, and Francis J. Skimin,
    Town of Tonawanda, t o wn
    editor of the T o n a w a n da
    News; 5 grandchildren and 3
    great-grandchildren.
    Funeral arrangements are
    being made through the Rhoney
    Funeral Home.
