  1. 1.  DEMOREST, Burton C was born about 1867 in New York; died on 22 Oct 1942 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY.

    Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 10/22/1942

    Burton C. Demorest. 85. of Newfane,
    died early this morning in
    Lockport City Hospital after an
    illness of several weeks. He was
    born in Newfane. son of Harding
    and Julia Steele Demorest and had
    lived in Niagara County all his
    life. Surviving are a daughter.
    'Mrs. Florence A. Ricfcard and a
    grandson. Robert Rickard, Lockport;
    two sisters. Mrs. Jennie ,
    Hanford. Town of Newfane, and
    Mrs, Jessie Cunningham. Lockport,
    and a brother, Elmer Demorest,
    Lockport.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
    Prudden Funeral Home, 343 Genesee
    St. Burial will be in Wright's
    Corners Cemetery.

    Burton married BRANCH, Viola Clementine about Apr 1887. Viola (daughter of BRANCH, Harding and Eliza) was born about 1867 in Ionia, Ionia County, MI; died on 27 Jan 1935 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mr and Mrs. Burton Demorest
    celebrated the 40th anniversary of
    their marriage last evening at the
    home of their daughter, Mrs. Robert
    Rickard of Millar Place.
    The rooms were decorated for the
    occasion in colors of pink and white,
    and a dinner was served to yie fifty
    eight r e l a t i v e s and friends, the table
    being centered with a handsome
    wedding cake topped by a miniature
    bride and groom, and baskets of pink
    and white nwaet peas were at either
    end.
    Following the dinner the evening
    was spen with cards and dancing
    with an enjoyable piano number by
    Violet Demorest. Many handsome
    g i f t s were presented to Mr. and Mrs.
    Demorest and the guests Included
    friends from East Aurora, Springbrook,
    Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Olcott
    and Newfane.

    1. DEMOREST, Florence A was born about 1893 in New York; and died.
