Mrs. Viola Clementine Demorest,
67, wife of Burton C. Demorest,
died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning
at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Florence Rickard, 33 Millar
place, after a brief illness with
heart disease. The funeral will be
held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon
in the home and at 3 o'clock
in Plymouth Congregational church.
Burial will be in Wright's Corners
cemetery.
Born in Ionia. Mich., on April 6,
1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Hardin Branch, Mrs. Demorest
came to Niagara county with her
parents in her youth. She had lived
in Lockport nineteen years ago. She
would have been married 48 years
on April 6.
Besides her husband and daughter
she leaves a grandson, Robert
Rickard of Lockport and two sisters,
Mrs. Wesley Church of Miami, Fla.,
and Mrs. Fred Brauer of Buffalo.

Mr and Mrs. Burton Demorest
celebrated the 40th anniversary of
their marriage last evening at the
home of their daughter, Mrs. Robert
Rickard of Millar Place.
The rooms were decorated for the
occasion in colors of pink and white,
and a dinner was served to yie fifty
eight r e l a t i v e s and friends, the table
being centered with a handsome
wedding cake topped by a miniature
bride and groom, and baskets of pink
and white nwaet peas were at either
end.
Following the dinner the evening
was spen with cards and dancing
with an enjoyable piano number by
Violet Demorest. Many handsome
g i f t s were presented to Mr. and Mrs.
Demorest and the guests Included
friends from East Aurora, Springbrook,
Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Olcott
and Newfane.
