Death of the first Lockport baby
to be born in the New Year shortly
before 3 o'clock today plunged into
gloom a community which was preparing
to extend best wishes of the,
season to winner of the 1942 Stock
Derby.
The child, Kay Elizabeth Branch
was bom at 4:32 Friday afternoon
at Lockport City hospital to Mr. and
Mrs Walter L. Branch. 217 Saxton
street. It was the first child bom
this year to parents who are residents
of the city

Burt J. Branch of the Old Niagara
Road passed away on Wednesday,
October 23rd, 1940. He is survived
by his wife, Mrs. Alida
Branch, two daughters and three
sons, Mrs. George Gurney of
Canastota, Mrs. Henry Frombgen.
Rogers and Lester Branch of Lockport
and Ernest Branch of Wilson,
and one sister, Mrs. Myra Gow of
Newfane. The funeral will be held
from Taylor & Reynolds Funeral
Home, Niagara at Transit Street,
at 2:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon.
Interment will be in Wright's Cemetery.

Elbert married CLERK, Alida about 1901. Alida (daughter of CLERK, Josiha Ernest and Elizabeth) was born on 11 Aug 1880 in Town of Hartland, Niagara County, NY; died on 22 Sep 1963 in Lockport Memorial Hospital, Lockport, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

22.1983 at Lockport Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Henry (Marion)
Frombgen of Lockport; three sons,
Ernest A. Branch of Wilson, Roger
Branch of Gasport and Walter
L. Branch of Lockport. Also 13
grandchildren and 38 • greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call
at their convenience at the Lange
Funeral Home, 188 East Ave.,
where funeral services will be
held on Wednesday. Sept. 25. 1983
at 10 a.m. The family will be
present from 2-4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Interment in Wrights Corners
Cemetery.

A retired area school teacher
and employe of Lockport Memorial
Hospital, Mrs. Alida C.
Branch, 82, of 76 Beverly Ave.,
died Sunday (Sept. 22, 1983) in
Lockport Memorial Hospital.
She was born in the Town of
Hartland on Aug. 11. 1880,
daughter of Josiha Ernest and
Elizabeth Clerk. She was the widow
of Elbert J. Branch who died
in 1941.
Mrs. Branch, a resident of Lockport
for 38 years, taught in several
one - room school houses in
the county for many years until
her retirement abut 1940. Until
five years ago she worked as a
kitchen aide in the Lockport Hospital.
She was a charter member
of the Newfane Grange and a
member of Emmanuel Methodist
Church.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Henry (Marion) Frombgen
of Lockport; three sons, Ernest
A. Branch of Wilson, Roger
Branch of Gasport and Walter L.
Branch of Lockport; 13 grandchildren
and 36 great • grandchildren.
Friends may call at their convenience
at the Lange Funeral
Home, 186 East Ave., where the
family will be present from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral
service will be conducted there at
10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev.
Donald M. Peck, pastor of Emmanuel
Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be In Wright's
Corners Cemetery.
