Lifelong Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church

Ruth E. (nee Peter) Lorenz, age 91 of the Town of Wheatfield and formerly of Martinsville, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Northgate Manor under the care of Niagara Hospice. She was the wife of Robert W. Lorenz who died in 2000 and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda.

She is survived by three children, Timothy (Renee) Lorenz of Wheatfield, Pamela (Larry) Doel of Florida and Paula Stange of Getzville; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Kimberly (Geoffry), Marci, Corey, Kelly (Marcus), Katie (Steve), Tracy (Steven), Amanda and Bradley and eight great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Abigail, Austin, Rachael, Ryan, Carter, Colton and Kennedy.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda. The Rev. Karl W. Haeussler will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Minnie M. Peters passes at North Tonawanda Home
NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs. Minnie M. Peters, 56, died suddenly last night at her home, 44 Filner avenue. She recently underwent an operation and appeared to be on the road to recovery when stricken with a heart attack. She was a lifelong resident of this city, a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She leaves her husband, William Peter; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Kubiak, Jr. and Miss Ruth Peter; a son, Wilbert Peter, all of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Benjamin Sahr of this city, and Mrs. John Lamp, of Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 from St. Paul's church. Interment will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

Vona Nursing Home; after a long
illness. Born in the Town of
Wheatfield, Mrs. Vona (sic) had lived
in North Tonawanda most of her
life. She was a member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church and of

WURL-Augusta (sic) L. Wurl, wife of the late J. Frederick Wurl, died at the home of her son, Gerhard C. Wurl, 466 Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, Jan. 16th, 1933. Mrs. Augusta A. Wurl, 77 years old, died today at the home of her son,
Gerhard C., 466 Niagara Falls boulevard. She was born in the town of Niagara
and had lived in North Tonawanda for the past 60 years. She was a member of
the St. Paul's church and the wife of the late Frederick Wurl.
Surviving are four sons, William F., Charles M., Walter J. and Gerhard C.,
North Tonawanda and Frederick J., Bergholz; four daughters, Mrs. Ada Burow,
Buffalo, Mrs. Arthur Lorenz and Mrs. Edward Lebrenz, North Tonawanda, and
Mrs. Benjamin Toellner, Nashville; 23 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren, five brothers, John Ziehl, Amherst, Ferdinand Ziehl, North
Tonawanda, Gustav Ziehl, Pendleton, William Ziehl, Milwaukee, and Charles
Ziehl, Hartland, and three sisters, Mrs. William Hartwig, Niagara Falls,
Mrs. Mary Goerss, North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Gottfried Fleishman, Wellsville.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late
residence and half an hour later at the St. Paul's church. Rev. F. A.
Hinners will officiate and burial will be in the St. Paul's cemetery.

Jaenecke John G., was born in Martinsville, June 5, 1856, and has lived in this place all his life. He was a farmer until thirty years of age, when he engaged in the hotel business and conducts one of the largest hostelries in the county. October 27, 1881, he married Bertha Ziehi and they have three children: Wilhelmine, Benjamin and Pauline. Mr. Jaenecke is a fireman and has been a trustee and president of the company; be is also a trustee of the German Lutheran church and is a Republican in politics. He rebuilt his hotel in 1896, and is a genial and popular man. His parents were Charles F. and Annie (Schwartzenholz) Jaenecke, natives of Germany. Charles F. Jaenecke came to America in 1845 and was a blacksmith and farmer; he died in 1892 and his wife in 1893. Mrs. Jaenecke's parents were Charles and Mary (Reck) Ziehl.
