    E. S. Thorsby. of Wilson, announce
    the engagement of their daughter,
    Beatrice Mae. to Howard W. Brandt,
    son of Mrs Charlotte Brande, of New
    fane. The wedding will take place in
    June.

    Thorsby who will become the
    bride of Howard Brandt, In the
    Methodist Episcopal church next
    Saturday, was honor guest at a
    linen shower last Saturday afteri
    noon. Hostesses were Mrs. El wood
    Brandt and Mrs, Joseph Dixon, at
    Mrs. Brandt's home.
    Games were played, prices award
    ed to Miss Thorsby, and a lunch
    served to guests from Newfane. Wilson,
    Dickersonville. Barker and
    Corwin.

    NEWFANE, June 24-The Methodist
    Episcopal church was the scene
    of a lovely Summer wedding at 4
    o'clock Saturday afternoon, when
    Beatrice Mae Thorsby, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Thorsby of the
    Beebe road became the bride of
    Howard Brandt of Newfane, son of
    Mrs. Charlotte Brandt of Williamsville
    and Newfane.
    Preceding the ceremony, Mrs.
    Mabel Bigalow, church organist,
    rendered a delightful musical pro
    gram, and Mrs. Gilbert Hartley
    sang "Oh, Promise Me."
    Numerous baskets of roses,
    peonies, delphinium and other flow
    ers formed an attractive background
    for the service.
    To the strains of Lohengrin's
    Wedding March, the pastor, the
    Rev. Grover c. Bucher took his
    place Inside the chancel and the
    groom with his attendant Ray War
    ner of Lockport awaited the ar
    rival of the matron of honor Mrs.
    Ray Warner of Lockport and the
    bride who entered with her father.
    The bride was lovely in her
    close-fitting white satin gown with
    short train, and she wore a face
    veil. Her bouquet was of bride's
    roses. Her attendant was gowned in
    pale blue dotted net with pink trim
    mlng and net hat. Her bouquet was
    of pink roses.
    The ushers were Weith Cheasty
    of Newfane and Frederick Fans of
    Wilson.
    The bride's mother wore a figured
    pink silk crepe and the grooms
    mother an orchid lace gown.
    The bridal party left the church
    to Mendelssohn's Wedding March.
    A reception for the immediate families
    was held at the home of the
    bride's parents, where supper was
    served, covers beirffe laid for 20. The
    decorations were pink and white.
    The bride presented her attend'
    ant with a picture motto and the
    groom his attendant with a travel
    book.
    Mr. and Mrs. Brandt left on a
    motor trip through the New England
    states, the bride wearing a
    white linen suit. Upon their return
    they will be at home In Newfane.
    Among the pre-nuptlals were entertainments
    and showers given by
    Mrs. Eiwood Brandt and Mrs. Roger
    Schwelgert of Newfane; the
    Misses Marjorle and Marlon Goodman
    of Dickersonvllle, and the employees
    of the American Sales Book
    company, Niagara Falls, where the
    bride is an office employee.
