    ARNOLD M. MAERTEN
    Arnold M. Maerten, 27 years old. 394 Miller street, died last night at the DeGraff Memorial hospital. He was a life-long resident. He is survived by a wife, Sarah (nee Stressel); two sons, Jerome and Robert; a daughter, Nona Claire, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Maerten, all of North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. Rev. Andrew Hils will conduct the services and interment will be at Elmlawn.

    364 Sclienrk street announce the marriage
    of their daughter, Sarah M., to
    Arnold M. Maerten of No. 394 Miller
    street. Saturday afternoon. August 1,
    at 4 o'clock, in Salem. Evangelical
    church, Rov. Andrew Hlls officiating.
    Tho bride was attended by her sister.
    Miss Reglna Strassel. and Norman
    Maerten was his brother's best man.
    A reception was held for about thirty guests
    at the bride's home immediately
    following the ceremony. The
    house was attractively decorated in
    pink and white and tho bride's table,
    at which covers were laid for 12, was
    centered with a wedding cake, decorated
    with a miniature bride and
    groom. Mr. and Mrs. Maerlon will
    be at home after August 15th at No
    247 Payne avenue. Among those
    present from out of town were Mr.
    and Mrs. C F. Diedrich and children
    of Newfane, Miss Arllne Hochadel
    and Mr. and Mrs. William Felsen-
    heimer of Rochester. Mr. and Mrs.
    Felsenhelmer. an aunt and uncle of
    the bride, also celebrated their 20lh
    wedding anniversary on that day.

    MAERTEN - William Maerten 82, of 6927 Bear Ridge Road, Town of Pendleton, died Thursday, Dec. 1 1960 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in North Tonawanda, he resided there for the greater part of his life and was employed at the Wurhtzcr Co. before retiring 17 years ago. His wife, Clara (nee Hardy) died in Oct 1954. Survivors are three grandchhildren, two brothers, John and Henry Maerten, and a sister, Mrs. August Stolzenburg of North Tonawanda. Friends may call at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam St., Tonawanda, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel will officiate. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery.

    -Word was received yesterday of
    the death of Albert Strassel, 69, a
    former resident of North Tonawanda
    a t his home in Fort Lauderdale,
    Fla. Born in Lockport, Mr.
    Strassel came to North Tonawanda
    as a young man and resided here
    until going to Florida ten years
    Ago to live. He was engaged ini tne
    manufacture and repair of furniture
    here.
    He leaves seven daughters, Mrs
    Benjamin H. Lindhurst Mrs. Clarence
    Dietrich, Mrs. Theodore Goldpenny,
    Mrs. Sarah Maerten, Mrs.
    Calvin Schwarts and the.Misses Regina
    and Thelma Strassel; two sons,
    Raymond and Alvin, and 12 grandchildren,
    residents of the Tonawandaa.
    The body Is being shipped to
    North Tonawanda. The funeral
    will be held at the home of Mrs.
    Goldpenny, 364 Schenk street Arrangements
    for the services will not
    be made until the body arrives.

    Dies at Home Saturday.

    Tonawanda. Feb. 22.—Minnie Au-
    gusta Strassel, 53 years old, died
    Saturday morning at her home, 364
    Schenck street. She was born in
    Clarence, N.Y., and for the past 31
    years lived in North tonawanda.
    Surviving are a husband, Alfred F.
    Strassel; two sons, Raymond G. and
    Alvin H. Strassel; seven daughters,
    Mrs. Benjamin Lindhurst, Mrs.
    Clarence Dietrich, Mrs. Arnold
    Maerten. and the Misses Marlon L.
    Regina C, Thelma H and Doris E
    Strasael: eight grandchildren, all of
    the Tonawandaa. three brothers and
    seven sisters. Mrs. Strassel was a
    member of Twin Ciry Council,
    Daughters of America, the Grace Lutheran
    church and the Ladles Aid
    Society of the church.- Funeral services
    will be held Tuesday afternoon
    at two o'clock at the residence
    and half an hour later at Grace Lutheran
    church. Rev. Clarence Braun
    officiating. Interment will be at
    Elmlawn.
