    Elizabeth "Libby" Mae Brauen (Hellert), age 88, of Gasport, entered into rest on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. Born on October 17, 1926 in Royalton, Libby is the daughter of the late Edward C. and Elsie M. (Mietz) Hellert. Libby married Robert Brauen on June 9, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville. Her husband, Bob Brauen, died on May 25, 1997. Together they had three children, Patricia Ann (the late Roger) Schnackel of South Carolina, Bonita Jo (Fred) Dempsey of Lockport and Steven M. (Karen) Brauen of Gasport. Dearest grandmother of Dale (Vicki) Schnackel, Todd Dempsey, Kimberly (Jason) Langhorne, Andrea (Ryan) Degenhardt, Trevor (Kate) Brauen, Tracey (Eric) Waters, Matthew (Jennifer) Brauen, and the late Michael Schnackel; and great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. Sister of Elsie Williams of Florida, Kathryn Thiel of Middleport, Ruby Schultz of West Shelby, and the late Robert Hellert, Donald Hellert, Marion Washak and Dorothy Schuler. Several nieces and nephews also survive Libby. Elizabeth worked about 15 years at FMC in Middleport in data entry. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport for over 50 years and served her church in the Ladies Aid group and the Evangelism Committee. She loved spending time with her family having picnics and get-togethers. She enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. She was a member of the Wolcottsville Firemen's marching band and its auxiliary, and for many years was a Girl Scout leader. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Wednesday, January 28th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM from Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Avenue, Gasport, NY with the Reverend Rodney Klinzing officiating. Interment will be in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Zion Lutheran Church or Tri-Town Ambulance.

    A former Akron dairy farmer,
    Alfred Brauen, 72, of Wolcottsville
    Road, died of a heart attack
    Tuesday (Aug. 11, 1964)
    while visiting friends in Clarence
    Center.
    Mr. Brauen celebrated his
    72nd birthday just two days
    prior to his death on Sunday
    Aug. 9. He was born in Clarence
    Center and for many years
    operated a dairy farm in Akron.
    Until his retirement in
    1955, he was a carpenter. He
    was married to the late Lillian
    Hasely Brauen who died in 1940.
    Friends may call at the Shepard
    Bros. Funeral Residence,
    1090 Main St., Clarence, where
    services will be held Friday at
    2 p.m. with the Rev. Pastor
    Carl Olin of Zion Lutheran
    Church officiating. Burial will
    be in Clarence Center Cemetery.
    The family will be present at
    the funeral home from 2 to 5
    and from 7 to 10 p.m. today.

    Elsie M. Hellert, 5543 Salt Works
    Road, Middleport, died Sunday at
    Medina Memorial Hospital.
    She was born March 2,1898 in the
    Town of Royalton to Charles and
    Anna (Mann) Mietz. She had lived in
    Middleport all of her life. She was a
    member of Trinity Lutheran Church
    of Wolcottsville, and of the L. L.
    Tillman American Legion Post
    Auxiliary of Akron.
    She was wife of the late Edward C.
    Hellert, who died in 1977. She was
    also pre-deceased by a daughter,
    Dorothy Schuler, who died in 1979.
    Survivors include two sons,
    Donald (Adelia) Hellert and Robert
    (Ruth) Hellert, both of Middleport;
    five daughters, Mrs. Chester
    (Marian) Washak of Medina, Mrs.
    Walter (Elsie) Williams of Medina,
    Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Brauen of
    Gasport, Mrs. William (Katherine)
    Thiel of Lockport, and Mrs. Lyell
    (Ruby) Schultz of Middleport; one
    sister, Mrs. Anna Wehling of
    Wolcottsvil'e; 26 grandchildren; 38
    great-gran Jchildren, and several
    nieces and nephews.

    Tuesday (2-4, 7-9) at the Bates,
    Wallace and Heath Funeral Home
    Inc., 38 State St., Middleport, and
    Wednesday (10-11) at Trinity
    Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville,
