Joseph Gerard "Gerry" E. Routhier, 83, formerly of Lewiston, NY passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Hope Hospice Home in Cape Coral, FL. Born in Marshfield, VT. He was the son of the late Albert and Rose (Goupil) Routhier.

Gerry, as he was known by his family and friends, worked as a contractor and carpenter in the Western New York area for over fifty five years until he retired. Following his retirement, he moved to Florida where he currently resided. Gerry enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and reading. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Gerry is survived by eight children; two daughters: Jolie (Chris) Routhier Vela of Greenlawn, NY; Kolette (Chris) Kreuzer of Buffalo, NY and six sons: Jerry (Linda Duke) Routhier, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY; Lonnie (Jamie) Routhier of Howell, NJ; Mark Routhier of Tempe, AZ; Jack (Amy) Routhier of Lewiston, NY; Randy (Sara) Routhier of Taylor, AZ; Todd (Susan) Routhier of Amherst, NY and was predeceased by one son, Rodney Routhier. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, four sisters: Pauline (Charles) Fuhrmann of North Ft. Myers, FL; Verna (Corky) Cromwell of Lewiston, NY; Madeline Eiss of Niagara Falls, NY; Irene Staszak of Grand Island, NY, two brothers: Gaston ‘Gus’ (late Dorothy) Routhier of Lockport, NY; Ernest (Donna) Routhier of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his former spouse, Mary Clara (Colao) Routhier, and four sisters: Lillian (late George) Millette, Rita (late Gerry) Messier, Antonia "Toni" Kaya, Florette Routhier, and one brother, Ren (late Rachel) Routhier.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 5th from 6 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In a double-ring ceremony at St.
Joseph's church. Miss Clara Colao.
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony
Colao. Ferry avenue, became the
bride of Mr. Gerald Routhier. son
of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Routhier,
Welch avenue. The Rev. John Sarvary
officiated before an altar banked
with white carnations and gladioli.
The bride, who was given in mar-
riage by her father, was attended
by Miss Lena Luciani as maid of
honor. Mr. Carmen Colao was best
man for Mr. Routhier.
Members of the bridal party included
Miss Helen Colucci, Miss
Frances Cavallero and Miss Verna
Routhier. Mr. Gino Fucarino, Mr.
Angelo Colao and Mr. Victor Sarkissian
were ushers.
Madeline Routhier. sister of the
bridegroom, was the miniature bride.
The ring bearer was Raymond Milette.
The breakfast, dinner and recep-
tion in the evening for 300 guests
were held at the Prospect house.
Mr. and Mrs. Routhier are spending
their honeymoon in the Adiron-
dack mountains and at Lake Placid.

Albert married GOUPIL, Rose on 6 Jan 1920. Rose was born on 6 Jul 1902; died on 16 Mar 1998 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The couple was married
Jan. 6, 1920. Mr. Routhier was
employed by the City of
Niagara Falls at the time of
his retirement in 1964._
A breakfast was held for
the immediate family and an
evening r e c e p t i o n for
relatives and friends at the
Crown and Anchor
Restaurant.
The couple has 11 children:
