    South Wales, Jan. 17-Charles N.
    Brayton, 87, of South Wales, for
    fourteen years chairman of the
    Board of Supervisors, died at 5 a.
    m. today in the home of his son.
    Robert I. Brayton, after a week's illness.
    A life-long Democrat, Mr.
    Brayton is believed never to have
    missed voting in the town. He was
    also the oldest living Mason in this
    vicinity, and a past master of the
    Blazing Star Lodge, F. A. M., of
    East Aurora.
    Mr. Brayton was born September
    11. 1847, near Poland, N. Y. At the
    age of 21, he became supervisor from
    the Town of Wales. In addition to
    his long record as chairman of the
    board, Mr. Bravton also served as
    county clerk for one term.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
    Arlene Barron, Nunda; Mrs. Mary
    Fergel, South Wales; and one son,
    Robert I. Brayton. Funeral services
    will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday
    at the son's residence here, with the
    Rev. William J. Semple officiating.

    Charles married Fanny R about 1876. Fanny was born in Sep 1855 in New York; died on 11 Apr 1923 in South Wales, Erie County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
