    Margaret V. (Murphy) McKinney, 82, of the Town of Wheatfield passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, NY. Born in Morgantown, WV she was the daughter of the late Orlando C. and Gladys (Rinker) Murphy and step daughter of the late Adah Murphy.

    Margaret came to Niagara Falls at the age of eight years old with her family and attended local schools. On April 9, 1952 she married Robert McKinney at St. Paul's Chapel in Niagara Falls, NY. She and her husband, Robert "Bill" owned and operated McKinney's Tavern and the Embassy Bar on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. McKinney predeceased her on September 13, 2001. She later worked as a housekeeper at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and retired in 2010. Following her retirement Margaret volunteered her services at the hospital mainly in their gift shop. In her leisure time, she loved ceramics, camping, crocheting and knitting. But her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

    Margaret is survived by five children Denise (late Norman) Rowles of Niagara Falls, NY; Michael (Robyn) McKinney of New Orleans; Mary Louise (Robert) Taczak of Niagara Falls, NY; Robert (Jennifer) McKinney of Kenmore, NY and Kathleen (Ken) Cloutier of Niagara Falls, NY; ten grandchildren Pamela (Dennis) Genkinger, Elizabeth (Ronald Winkfield) Rowles, Jessica (Brian) Collins, Shannon (Amber Denman) McKinney, Russell Schultz, Nicholas (Pamela) McKinney, James Brady, Robert (fiance Cheri Wickwire) McKinney, Meghan Cloutier and Casey Cloutier; three great grandchildren Zachary Genkinger, Addison Genkinger and Michael McKinney; two step brothers Robert (Joan) Shivley of Lewiston, NY and Marvin (Sandy) Shivley of Pennsylvania, one step sister Janet (late Roy) Pinto of Niagara Falls, NY; her dear friends Robin Vicccare, Janice Moffett, Bette Gigliotti and Josephine Gigliotti and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one step brother Richard (Patricia of Niagara Falls, NY) Shivley.

    Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 - 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Friday December 19th at 11 a.m. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial donations may be made to DeGraff Adult Day Care, 3780 Commerce Court, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.

    Hospital after being in poor
    health for more than 20 years.
    A native of Gleason, W.Va.,
    Mrs. Murphy resided in Niagara
    Falls 16 years before moving
    to Town of Niagara five
    years ago.
    Surviving are her husband,
    Orlando Murphy; a daughter,
    Mrs. Robert McKinney, Pittsburgh;
    a granddaughter and
    a grandson; her father. Israel
    Rinker, Kitzmiller, Md.; two
    sisters, Mrs. Chester Nowacki,
    this city, and Mrs. Leo Rowan,
    Kitzmiller; and two brothers,
    Ray Rinker, this city, and Dale
    Rinker, Town of Niagara.
    The service will be held at
    2 p.m. Friday at the Zajac
    Funeral Home with Rev. William
    J. Devine, Niagara United
    Presbyterian Church,
    officiating. Burial will be in
    Memorial Park.
