    united in marriage at 3:30 Friday
    afternoon at the home of the
    bride's greataunt, Mrs. Alberta P.
    Bruce of Lockport, Rev. John C.
    Killian officiating. Given in marriage
    by her father, the bride
    was attended by Miss Jeanne
    DeVolder of Rochester as maid
    of honor. The groom's brother,
    Robert Breitsman of Medina, was
    best man.

    The ceremony was attended
    only by members of the immediate
    families. A wedding dinner
    was served to the same guests at
    Hotel Statler, Buffalo.
    Ensign and Mrs. Breitsman left
    for a wedding trip to Canada.
    Ensign Breitsman, previously stationed
    at Jacksonville, Fla„ will
    go to Norfolk to receive further
    orders, after which the bride will
    join him.

    Mrs. Gladys W. Breitsman, 87, of
    South Ave., died suddenly Sunday
    morning at Medina Memorial
    Hospital.
    She was born in Medina. Feb. 15,
    1897, to Samuel J. and Elizabeth
    (Hannan) Wilson, and lived here all
    of her life. She had been employed
    by Branson's Dry Goods, and later
    Crowley's Dry Goods for 40 years
    prior to retirement in 1978. She was a
    member of the United Methodist
    Church and was a charter member
    of the Auxiliary of Lincoln Post No.
    1483 V.F.W.
    Her husband, Willis J. Breitsman,
    died Dec. 16. 1964.
    Survivors include two sons, Willis
    J. Breitsman Jr. of Lew is ton, Robert
    W. Breitsman of Medina; one
    daughter, Mrs. Lois Franklin of
    Medina; three grandsons and three
    granddaughters; five greatgrandchildren;
    one brother,
    Reginald D. Wilson of Memphis,
    Tenn.; a nephew, Robert F. Perry of
    Canandaigua, and a great-nephew
    and great-niece.
    - There will be no visitation. A
    service will be held at Houseman
    Funeral Home at the convenience of
    the family. The Rev. John Francisco
    Jr., pastor of the United
    Presbyterian Church, will officiate
    and burial will be in West Ridgeway
    Cemetery.

    He had been a patient there

    was a son of the late William
    H and Edna Mason Beers. He
    was a veteran automobile
    dealer beginning in 1910 with
    the Chevrolet Co. He was
    later In the same business in
    Lockport and Albion. At one
    time he was a salesman
    the Friends Manufacturing
    t o . Gasport.
    Mr. Beers had lived at
    Rldgewood since 1922 and for
    the last 12 years he spent his
    winters in Daytona Reach.

    her youth and taught in district
    schools in this area
    She was married to Mr Beers
    In 1899 and on July 17 they cele
    brated their 59th wedding anniver
    sary They had resided at Ridge
    wood since 1933 and had spent
    their winters in Florida
    When in New fane Mrs Beers
    was a member of the Methodist
    Church and taught in Its Church
    School. She also belonged to the
    Senior Philathea Class, the Tuesday
    Club, the Literary Club and
    the Order of Eastern Star
    Surviving besides her husband
    are one son, Clifford W Beers
    of Rochester, two grandchildren,
    four great grandchildren and one
    sister. Mrs Lottie Bradley of the

    78. vice president of the Western Block Company,
    died at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home. 471 High
    St. He was an honorary trustee of the Baptist Church and
    served as president of the YMCA board at the time the
    present building was financed and constructed.
    Born in Lockport Oct. 6, 1865
    Mr. Whitney was the son of Julius

    & and Jane Whitney. His father
    was a carpenter contractor.
    Rose From Ranks
    The son was educated in the

    Lockport public schools. After his
    graduation from the old Union
    School, he entered the employ of
    the former Boston and Lockport
    Block Factory at the age of 18
    years. There he rose from the

    ranks to become general manager.
    After the block factory burned
    about 3a years ago. Mr. Whitney
    became associated with the Western
    Block Company, serving first
    as sales manager, then as secretary
    ana in recent years as rice president.
    For more than 40 years a director
    of the YMCA, Mr. Whitney re-,
    signed in 1940 when he was elected
    a honorary member of the board
    in recognition of continued and
    very active service. He became a
    member of the board June 10. 1901
    and was president for seven years
    from 1922 to 1929.
    Trustee For Life
    In 1938 the Baptist Church
    recognized Mr. Whitney's 40 years
    of service on the official board by
    making him an honorary trustee
    for life. At that time he was chair-
    man of the Board of Trustees.
    Mr. Whitney was a charter mem-
    ber of the Rotary Club. While he
    never aspired to public office, he
    served on the Board of Park Com-
    missioners under former Mayor
    Ernest B. Crosby and Orrin G.
    Blount.
    Mr. Whitney was married in ??
    to Aletta Esther Brace, who died
    eight years ago. Surviving are a
    son, Douglas B. Whitney, work
    manager of the Harrison Radiator
    Division of General Motors Cor-
    poration, and a daughter, Mrs.
    Clifford W. Beers, Rochester.
    There are five grandchildren.

    Mrs. Aletta Brace Whitney, wife
    of Elbert D. Whitney, died yesterday
    afternoon at her home, 471
    High street, following an illne of
    several weeks.
    Born In the Town of Cambria, the
    daughter of Charles Spencer Brace
    and Esther Jane Clifford. Mrs. Whlt-
    ney had long been prominent in
    local church, club and social circles.
    She was a member of the First Baptist
    church and was active In the
    various church societies, including
    the Ladles Aid society and Missionary
    circle. She was also a member
    of the Cottiers' club, Mothers' Council
    and the Lockport Gardeners.
    Besides her husband she leaves
    one son, Douglas B. Whitney; one
    daughter, Mrs. Clifford W. Beers,
    and one sister. Miss Alberta P. Brace
    all of Lockport.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday
    afternoon at 8 o'clock at the
    home, the Rev. Jeffery D. Livingstone
    of the First Baptist church
    officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut
    Ridge cemetery.
