    conducted last Saturday in the
    W.L. Froehley Funeral Home by
    the Rev. Roger P. Horton, pastor of
    St. James United Church of Christ
    for Dr. Howard F. Bremer of King
    Arthur Court Apartments, a
    retired college professor, who died
    Aug. 26 in his 73rd year.
    Dr. Bremer, professor emeritus of
    history at Briarcliff College,
    Briarcliff Manor, was a social
    studies graduate of Fredonia State
    College and received his masters
    degree from the University of
    Buffalo and his doctorate in history
    from the University of Rochester.
    A World War II Army tank
    corps captain, he saw combat in the
    European Theator receiving the
    Bronze Star with Oak Leaf clusters
    and the Purple Heart.
    Surviving are his wife the former
    Helene Grossman, descendent of an
    old Hamburg family, a daughter,
    Mrs. Joseph Cilberti of Amherst,
    two brothers, Norman E. Bremer of
    Ithaca and Lloyd C. Bremer of
    Nyack and a granddaughter,
    Christine Cilberti.

    Mrs. Caroline P. Bremer, wife
    of William J. Bremer died
    Wednesday afternoon, March, 20
    in Ossening after a long illness.
    A native of Buffalo, she was
    82 years old and had spent
    most iof her life in Dunkirk and
    lived in Sheridan. For the past
    four years she had resided with
    her :son in Ossening.
    Mrs. Bremer was a member of
    Grace Lutheran Church of Dunkirk
    and True Union Rebekah
    lodge in Sheridan.
    Besides her husband, she is
    survived by three sons, Howard
    F. Bremer, of Ossining, Norman
    C. Bremer of Ithaca and Lloyd
    W. Bremer of Nyack; a sister,
    Mrs. T. Graiban of Niagara
    Falls: three grandchildren and
    several nieces and nephews
