    Mrs. George Q. Grogan, 42, proprietor
    of tbe River Road Gardens.
    where she lived, died at her home
    at 7 a m . today after a lingering
    Illness. She bad been confined to
    bed three days.
    The former Mabel R. Brenan,
    Mrs. Grogan was born In Rome
    August 1, 1893. daughter of tbe
    late Lucian F. and Minnie Potter
    .Brenan, and bad always resided
    bere. She was a member of St
    Mary's Church and was affiliated
    with its Altar Society.
    ' On June 17, 1918, she was married
    to Mr. Grogan, who survives
    with a son, George L„ and a halfbrother,
    Leo B. Brenan. Mrs. Grogan
    had conducted the River Road
    Gardens 12 years

    Lucian F. Brenon. 72, widely
    known resident of this city for the
    past 40 years, passed away at noon
    today at his home R. F. D. 3, after
    an illness of several weeks. He was
    stricken with heart trouble February
    13 and had been confined to
    his bed since that time.
    A son of Aime Brenon and Rose
    Manigolde, both natives of France,
    and pioneer settlers in Lewis and
    Jefferson counties, Mr. Brenon was
    born in the town of Turin, May 9.
    1858. The elder Brenon was a major
    general in the army of Napoleon I
    and was on the ill-fated retreat
    from Moscow.
    Following his marriage forty
    years ago in ST. Mary's Church
    here to Mrs. Minnie Bradt of Lee
    Center, Mr. Brenon came to this
    city and had since made his home
    here. He conducted the Brenon
    Farm on the Rome-Utica highway,
    just outside the city limits.
    He was a member of St. Mary's
    Church and of the Altar Society of
    that church.
    Surviving, besides his wife, is a
    daughter. Mrs. George Q. Grogan at
    home and a grandson, George Lu
    cian Grogan of this city. He also
    leaves five sisters, Mrs. Brenton
    Bailey of Lyons palls; Mrs. Eleanor
    Hoffman of Mohawk Hill; Mrs.
    Kaine Maurer of West Leyden;
    Mrs. Margaret O'Hara of Constablev
    ille and Mrs. Adele Radel of Boonville;
    one brother, Eugene Brenon
    ot Turin. and stepson, Leo B Bradt
    ol Rome.

    Minnie Amelia Potter, widow of
    Lucian Brenon, died this morning
    at 7 o'clock at her home on the
    River Road, where she had resided
    for the past 32 years. Mrs. Brenon ,
    had been in failing health for seve-
    ral months and confined to her
    bed the past two weeks. She was ,
    63 years old last Saturday.
    A daughter of the late Orville M.
    and Mary Jane Eames Potter, Mrs.
    Brenon was born in Lee Center.
    coming to this city 41 years ago.
    She was twice married, her first
    husband being Reed Bradt. Her
    second husband, Mr. Brenon, died
    in March of 1931.
    Mrs. Brenon is survived by a
    son, Leo Bradt of Rome, by her
    first marriage, and a daughter, Mrs.
    George Grogan. also of Rome, by
    her second union. A brother, New
    ton Potter of Rome, and five grand
    children also survive.
    In her 32 years' residence on the
    River Road Mrs. Brenon had made
    a host of friends and was one of
    the best known residents of that
    section.
    For a number of years she was
    associated with her daughter in
    conducting the River Road Garden,
    but for the past two years manag
    ed the^business alone.
    She was a member of St. Mary's
    Church.
