    Notes:

    Velma (nee Keleman) Brenon, age 92, of Amherst, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Wells House at Beechwood Homes in Amherst. Born April 26, 1924 in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Gogolack) Keleman. Along with her husband, Edward Brenon, they founded and operated E. Brenon Topsoil in Amherst.

    She was the wife of 70 years of the late Edward L. Brenon, who died August 15, 2012; mother of David Brenon of Kenmore, Carol (late Hal) Jacobi of Amherst, Patricia (Edward) Fiegl of Lockport, Pamela (Ronald Wachala) Brenon of Amherst, and the late Jacqueline Hitzges; mother-in-law of Peter Hitzges of Amherst; and grandmother of Denise (Thomas) Bruno of Springfield, Virginia, Jill (Shawn) McQuaid of
    Pendleton, New York, Kevin (Kim) Jacobi of Boston, New York, William (Lisa) Hitzges of Amherst, New York, Kenneth Hitzges of Wheatfield, New York, and Coty (Kelsey Higgins) Granger of Boynton, Florida. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday at the Ascension Chapel Mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Elmwood Avenue, Town of Tonawanda; the Rev. Suresh Yarmarthy officiating. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227, are preferred by the family.

    The marriage of Miss Velma Ann
    Keleman daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth
    Keleman of 269 North avenue
    to Edward L. Brenon, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brenon of Delaware
    avenue was solemnized Saturday
    monung February 14 in the
    Ascension church at 9 o'clock, the
    Rev. Daniel Molloy officiating.
    The bride, who was given in
    marriage by her uncle, Mr. Joseph
    Nagy, wore a gown of white val
    raye with a short train fashioned
    with a sweetheart neckline, draped
    bodice and three-quarter length
    sleeves, coming to points. Her fingar
    tip veil of illusion was arranged
    in a halo, with tiny seed
    pearls coming to a star shape and
    she carried a shower bouquet of
    white roses and sweet peas, tied
    with s white ribbon and streamers.
    She also wore a double string
    of pearls, a gift of the groom.
    Mist Ann Brenon, sister of the
    groom, wore a gown of blue faille
    taffeta with pale pink accessories.
    She carried a bouquet of pink
    roses and sweet peas, tied with a
    pink ribbon.
    Little Miss Karen Green, niece
    of the bride, was flower girl. She
    wore a pale pink taffeta gown
    with a blue sash and carried a
    colonial bouquet of pink roses and
    sweet peas.
    Mrs Keleman, mother of the
    bride, wore a black crepe dress,
    trimmed with a white lace collar,
    and Mrs. Brenon, mother of the
    groom, wore a powder blue two
    piece dress. Each wore a corsage
    of pink roses and white sweet
    peas.
    Mr. John Brenon, cousin of the
    groom, was best man and Robert
    Brenon and John Keleman were
    ushers.
    Following the ceremony a wedding
    supper was held for the bridal
    party and the immediate families
    at the home of the bride.
    Covers were laid for twenty-f»«e
    at a T-shoped table centered with
    two bell-shaped wedding cakes on
    an oblong mirror. The cake was
    further adorned with the names
    of the bride and groom, flowers
    and white ribbon streamers with
    tiny red hearts which fell from a
    large bell centered from the ceiling.
    Later a reception was held for
    50 guests at the home of the bride.
    Mr. and Mrs. Brenon are making
    their home in 133 Ward road.
    Out of town guests were from
    Buffalo, Kenmore and Hamburg.
