Obituary Of Raymond Dennis Pierce

Raymond D. Pierce passed away peacefully on May 18th in the hospice ward of the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, with his wife by his side.  A Marine, Vietnam Veteran, and Purple Heart recipient, Ray dedicated his life to his country and his community.  His contributions over the past several decades have been integral to the operation of Lockport's VFW Post 2535.
He is survived by his devoted wife Mary (Jansen) and daughter Brooke Elizabeth as well as his dear brother Lonnie.  The family wishes to honor his request to be mourned privately.  Mary and Brooke thank Ray's friends and the community for their support and messages of condolence.

Nerbere, 59, of 541 Niagara
St., died Monday (April 27,
1959) at Lockporl Memorial
Hospital.
Born June 12, 1899, in the
Town of Royalton, Mr. Nerber
was the son of Lyman and
Mary Hobart Nerber. He was
employed 16 years with the
Highway Department and
worked as custodian at the
county courthouse for the last
six years.
Mr. Nerber who suffered a
three-month illness, was married
for 35 years to the former
Agnes Werth. He-was a member
of the Redmen's Club here.
Survivors include his wife,
three sons, R o l a n d Nerber
Jr., Newfane, R i c h a r d and'
Gerald Nerber, both at home;
four daughters, Mrs. Harry
Pierce, Mrs. Robert Allen,
Mrs. Robert Johnson and Mrs.
Donald Henning, all of Lockport;.
three sisters, Mrs. Esther
Robertson, Lockport, Mrs. Vine
Savage, Lowell,. Mass., and
Mrs. Mabel Riddle, Fla.; three
brothers, Clark Nerber, Michigan;
Clifford Nerber, Olcott,
and Hobart Nerber, Lockport;
and 19 grandchildren-
Services will be conducted at
2 p.m. Thursday at the Gaul
Funeral Home by the Rev.
Woodrow Witmer of First Presbyterian
Church. Burial will
be in Gtenw.ood Cemetery.

Roland married WERTH, Agnes Bernice Gertrude on 24 May 1924 in Warrens Corners, Niagara County, NY. Agnes (daughter of WERTH, Hubert Albert Ferdinand and ZIMMERMAN, Gesine M) was born on 5 May 1905 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY; died on 24 Jan 1999 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY. LOCKPORT - Hubert A. Werth, 86, of 230 Price St., a retired farmer who had raised nine children and had 26 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren, died Monday afternoon (Aug. 3, 1959) at a local nursing home following a long illness. A widower twice, he had married three times. He retired from a Town of Lockport fruit farm in 1946 after working there since 1907 and worked part-time. at a local cold storage firm "until seven years ago. He was born Nov. 6, 1872, at Bergholtz, son of William and Heneritta Werth. He came to Lockport about 13 years ago. Lockport about 13 years ago. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his third wife, Mrs. Carrie Collins Werth; six daughters and three sons, Mrs. Robert Mosher, Mrs. Frank Thilkey, Mrs. Roland Nerber, Mrs. Elton Behm, Mrs. Walter Anterline, Hubert F., Everett C. and Glenn R. Werth, all of Lockport, and Mrs. Leonard Kranz, Akron, N.Y. The Rev. Stephen Palmer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Hubert married ZIMMERMAN, Gesine M on 12 Dec 1895 in Niagara County, NY. Gesine was born in Feb 1878 in Town of Royalton, Niagara County, NY; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
