    Carl J. Keppel, 61, a switchman
    in the North Tonawanda freight
    yards for 30 years, died at his
    home, 436 Tremont Ave., Kenmore,
    last night after a short illness. He
    had retired a year and a half ago
    Mr. Keppel was born in North
    Tonawanda, a son of the late William
    and Mary Schieble and
    moved to Kenmore 26 years ago
    after his marriage to Josephine
    Brick. He served in the Army 13
    months during World War I and
    was a member of Active Hose
    Company 2, and North Tonawanda
    Firemen's Benevolent Association.
    Besides his wife, he is survived
    by a sister, Mrs. Frank Ohman of
    Philadelphia.
    Funeral services will be at 2
    p.m. Saturday at the Wattengel
    Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St. Mr
