    MISS JOANNE ISABELLE CAPPELLO became
    the bride of Walter Thomas Philbrick in a double
    ring ceremony performed by Rev. James Cahill at St.
    John de LaSalle Church, Saturday (July 15, 1961).
    The former Miss Cappello
    is the daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. John Cappello, Joliet
    Avenue. The bridegroom
    is the son of Mrs. Guy
    Sterling Philbrick, Buffalo
    Avenue, and the late Dr.
    Philbrick.

    GIVEN IN MARRIAGE
    by her father, the bride
    wore a gown of silk organza
    and rosepoint lace featuring
    a scooped a p p l i q u e^
    neckline and fitted lace bodice
    and long lace sleeves.
    The bouffant skirt trimmed
    with sequins and pearls terminated
    in a chapel-length
    train with cabbage rose
    trim and streamers.
    A crystal queen's crown
    held her four-tiered scalloped
    veil. She carried a
    cascade of white sweetheart
    roses with stephanotis with
    ivy and; presented a bouquet
    before the altar of the
    Blessed Virgin Mary.
    MISS ANN GENOVESE,
    maid of honor, wore a long
    pink e mbroidered n y l on
    sheer dress with scooped
    neckline, cap sleeves and
    fitted bodice. Her headpiece
    was a flowered contour
    crown with circular
    veil, and she carried a bouquet
    of pink sweetheart
    roses with stephanotis.
    Similarly attired were the
    attendants Miss Caroline
    Cappello, sister of the bride,
    and Miss Barbara Philbrick,
    sister of the bridegroom.

    THE FLOWER GIRL,
    Mina Napolitano, wore a
    pink nylon sheer dress with
    a scooped neckline, fitted
    bodice trimmed with pearls
    and sequins and a bouffant
    skirt. She .carried a colonial
    bouquet of pink sweetheart
    roses and stephanotis.
    Guy Sterling Philbrick
    was his brother's best man.
    Ushers, were Leonard J.
    Palumbo, Grant E. Shea
    and Donald VanNimwegen.

    AN EVENING RECEPTION
    was held at the Century
    Club.
    After a motor trip through
    the southern states. Mr. and
    Mrs. Philbrick will' make
    their home in Nashville,
    Tenn.

  1. 2.  CAPPELLO, John was born on 23 Feb 1914 in Platania, Italy (son of CAPPELLO, Antonio and TORCHIA, Giovanna); died on 8 Oct 2016 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    John Cappello, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 8, 2016 after a brief illness. He was 102. He was born in Platania, Italy on February 23, 1914, a son of the late Antonio and Giovanna (Torchia) Cappello.

    He attended schools in Italy and then moved with his family to James City, Pennsylvania in 1928. John then moved to Niagara Falls in 1936, married Isabelle Napolitano in 1938 and they remained happily married for 69 years until her passing in 2006. He worked at Union Carbide for 35 years until his retirement in 1976.

    He enjoyed bowling and gardening and was an accomplished saxophone player.

    He is survived by three children: Joanne (Tom) Philbrick of Vero Beach, Florida, Caroline (late Vito) Lavango of Grand Island and John A. Cappello of Wilton Manors, Florida. He is also survived by two sisters: Angie (Pat) Scuttela and Mary (Eugene) Di Cello, sister-in-law Josephine (late Triest) Cappello, 6 grandchildren, 8
    great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by three siblings: Lucille (late Victor) Orzetti, Michael (late Frances) Cappello and Triest (Josephine) Cappello.

    There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10 A.M. in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Niagara Falls. Arrangements made by LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.

    John married NAPOLITANO, Isabelle in 1938. Isabelle died in 2006. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
