    Notes:

    Warren L. “Jerry” Broeker, of the Town of Niagara, passed from this earthly life on Friday May 20, 2016 at his residence with his family at his side and while under care of Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 1, 1936 the son of the late Roy C. and Vera A. (Hexemer) Broeker.

    Jerry was a 1954 graduate of the former LaSalle High School and in 1955 entered Wanakena State Ranger School’s general forestry curriculum graduating in February of 1956. He was employed at Kimberly Clarke for seven months before continuing his Forestry studies at Syracuse University receiving a BSA degree in Forest Management & Forest Engineering, proudly graduating in 1960. During his college studies he was employed doing survey work for Bero Construction & Railroad Waterproofing Company.

    Following graduation, Jerry worked in the survey crew for Johnson Drake and Piper, a heavy road contractor. In 1962 he was hired as a surveyor and quantity person with the Herbert F. Darling Engineering & Construction Company and was elevated to Superintendant in 1964, a position in which he held until his retirement in 1999. Six years following his retirement, the Herbert F. Darling Company continued to call Jerry back to assist with his expertise on their major projects during the summer.

    Mr. Broeker enlisted and proudly served for six years in the US Army National Guard with the 90th Artillery and later with the 174th Armored Division in Niagara Falls until his honorable discharge in 1966.

    On April 15, 1961 he married the former Linda Ann Hepfer and were happily married for over 50 years until her passing in March of 2015.

    Survivors include his four sons: Gary (Keith Cohn) of W. Hollywood, CA; Jeff of Monument, CO; Kyle (Maria) of Doylestown, PA and Shaun of Niagara Falls, NY. Grandchildren: Jeff Jr. of the Town of Tonawanda; Shelby (Rob) Donohue of Niagara Falls, NY; Matthew & Gabrielle of Monument, CO and Maxxim & Skyler of Doylestown, PA. a great-grandson Julian of the Town of Tonawanda and a sister Patti Jean (Bill) Shaefer of N. Tonawanda, NY.

    Also surviving is Jerry’s good friend and companion Dorothy Sorley who on May 14th of this year entered into and celebrated a Commitment Ceremony. In addition, he will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Jerry was a longtime and active member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer and at various times a trustee position for 12 years. He also served as a volunteer with the Escort Department and as the Care Van driver at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 14 years. He was an avid enthusiast of all sports however, enjoyed participating in bowling, golf, basketball and softball.

    The family will be present Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday morning from 10 AM to 12 Noon in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Friends are invited to services on Friday at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church, 8210 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304 with the Rev. Jean Edmister officiating. Private burial committal services will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston at the convenience of the family.

    Linda Ann (Hepfer) Broeker, longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, passed away onSaturday, March 21, 2015 from complications after surgery. She was 74. She was born in Weston Mills, New York on April 3, 1940, a daughter of the late John and Veda (Bohn) Hepfer. She moved to Niagara Falls as a child and attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Falls High School.

    Linda married Jerry Broeker onApril 15, 1961 and she worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Myland, Dr. Kramer and Dr.Pallone for many years.

    She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, was a 13 year volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital and she enjoyed walking, bicycling, lawn bowling, cross country skiing, bowling and trips to Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

    Linda is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years, Jerry Broeker, four children: Gary (Keith Cohn) Broeker of West Hollywood, CA, Jeff (Melissa) Broeker of Monument, CO, Kyle (Maria) Broeker of Doylestown, PA and Shaun Broeker of the Town of Niagara. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jr., Shelby, Gabrielle, Matthew, Maxxim and Skyler, one great-grandchild: Julian, her sister-in-law Hazel (late John) Hepfer and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two siblings Mildred (Stan) Sawyer and John (Hazel) Hepfer.

    Friends may join the family for a viewing at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Thursday from 2-5 PM. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 AM in First United Methodist Church, 8210 Buffalo Avenue A last lunch will be held after the memotial service in the church hall. Burial will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Linda’s name to the First United Methodist Church sign fund, 8210 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, N.Y. 14304.

    A GOWN of silk organza was worn by
    the bride. The short-sleeved gown was
    fashioned with a bodice graced by rosepoint
    ' lace, which was studded with sequins
    and seed pearls.
    The bell-shaped skirt was styled with
    lace garlands and featured a butterfly
    pouf at back. The skirt terminated in a
    chapel-length train.
    A crystal crown secured her scalloped,
    pearl-edged silk Illusion veil, and the bride
    carried a cascade bouquet of white carna-
    • tions centered with an orchid.

    MRS. STANLEY Sawyer was her sister's
    honor attendant, gowned in orchidembroidered
    white silk organza. An orchid
    face-framing headpiece secured her
    face veil, and she carried a colonial bouquet
    of orchid carnations surrounded by
    white carnations.
    Attired similarly to the matron of
    honor were the bridesmaids. Mrs. John W.
    Hepfer and Miss' Sue Hutson. Each carried
    a colonial bouquet of white carnations
    centered with orchid carnations.
    Benjamin Johns Jr. was best man, and
    guests were seated by Erwin H. Broeker
    and John W. Hepfer.

    THE 3-F CLUB was the setting for an
    evening reception, where the bride's mother
    received guests in a navy and pink
    crepe gown, navy and pink accessories and
    a corsage of pink roses.
    The bridegroom's mother chose a
    water print ensemble, set off by avocado
    green accessories and a white rose corsage.
    The newlyweds left for a wedding trip
    to the Thousand Islands and Adirondack
    Mountains.

    Mrs. Broeker Lived Most Of Her Life In Town Of Porter
    YOUNGSTOWN, Nov. 21 - Mrs Augusta Wilhelmina Day Broeker, 69 years old, a well known resident of this village and vicinity for many years, died today at her home here. Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and at 2 from the Blairville Lutheran church. The Rev. C. F. Dauphin will officiate and interment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Niagara Falls. Mrs. Broeker was bom in Germany. When nine years old she came to this country with her parents and had resided in the Town of Porter ever since. She was an active member of the Blairvllle Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid society. Mrs. Broeker is survived by her husband, Albert Broeker; five sons. Alfred, Arthur, and Clarence, all of Youngstown, Irving, of Lewiston, and Roy, of Niagara Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Cornell, of Wilson. Mrs Walter Bars and Mrs. Fred Lloyd, both of Youngstown, and Mrs. Philip Nichols, of Modeltown: one brother. Herman Dall, of Youngstown; one sister.
