PHELPS - Laverne H. Peake,
79, of Rte. 96, Phelps, died yesterday
(Aug. 21) after an extended
illness.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Dewey
Funeral Home, 81 E. Main St.,
Phelps.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Monday from the funeral home,
with the Rev. Gary Hakes of the
United Church of Phelps, officiating.
Burial will be in West Haven
Cemetery.
Mr. Peake was a native of Phelps
all his life. He was the son of the
late Stephen and Edith Brignall
Peake. He had worked for the Empire
State Pickling Company for
many years, then became a selfemployed
contractor until hif
retirement in 1971. Later, he was an
assessor for the town of Phelps. He
was a member of the Phelps Fire
Dept. and the Covered Bridge
Society.
Surviving are his wife, Helen;
three sons: Carl and Paul of Phelps,
and Harry of Minneapolis, Minn.;
one daughter, Gloria Fisher of
Phelps; 10 grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to the
Phelps Fire Department.

PHELPS-Mrs. Edith M. Peake, 93,
of Park St., died at Elm Manor Nursing
Home in Canandaigua yesterday
evening after a long illness.
Friends may call at the Eacker
Funeral Home Friday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2
p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev.
Leonard Hackney of the United Church
of Phelps will officiate. Burial will be
In Rest Haven Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Phelps Voluntary Ambulance
Service.
Mrs. Peake was born June 21, 1884,
in Seneca County and lived in the
Phelps area for over 87 years. She was
the widow of Stephen Peake, who died
In 1930. She was a member of the
United Church of Phelps and retired in
1965 from the Seneca Kraut and
Pickling Company in Phelps.
Surviving are one son, LaVerne of
Phelps; four grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.

GENEVA - The funeral for Miss
Elizabeth J. Hamill, of 158 High St.,
who died unexpectedly Tuesday in
Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester,
was this morning at 10 a m in St.
Stephen's Church. The Rev. John
Quinn. pastor, was celebrant of the
Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will
be in Groton at the convenience of the
family.
Bearers were William Hastings and
Donald Dobbin.

William married MOSHER, Amanda W about 1871. Amanda was born in Feb 1851 in New York; died on 24 Oct 1931 in Waterloo, Seneca County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

C. Brignall, 80, widow of Wil-
liam Brignall, died at her home
1082 Elizabeth street, Saturday
following a short Illness.
She Is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Edith Peaks of Phelps. three
sons, H. Herbert Brignall of Wa-
terloo. Charles Brignall of Ge-
neva, DeForest Brignall of Cay-
uga: eleven grandchildren and
four great grandchildren There
are also two brothers of the de-
ceased, William and George Mosh-
er of Geneva.
The funeral will be held Tues-
day afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from
the home. Rtv, John Beach Ar-
thur, rector of St. Paul's Episco-
pal church will officiate. Burial
iwill be made in Dobbins ceme-
tery. The bearers will be her
grandchildren.
