VETERAN MACHINIST DIES IN HOSPITAL
NORTH TONAWANDA. July 26 - William C. Hagen. 68, of Niagara Falls Blvd.. Town of Wheatfield who worked his entire adult life for one company, died Monday afternoon in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Hagen had been employed for 50 years as machine operator of the Buffalo Bolt Company, retiring in 1948. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Nashville Fire Company. He is survived by his son, Ellwood W.. in the U. S. Army in Germany, who now is en route to his home: a daughter. Miss Isabel, at home; a brother, Julius; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Schuster and Mrs. Charles Diehl, all of the Town of Wheatfield. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 8 o'clock in the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam St., Tonawanda, and at 8:10 to St. John's Church. St Johnsburg. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Mrs. Ernestine Krull
Mrs. Ernestine Krull, nee Schultz, 77, of 220 Miller street, died last night
at her home after a prolonged illness. Born in Germany, she had resided in
North Tonawanda the past 25 years, coming here from St. Johnsburg after the
death of her husband, William. She is survived by two daughters, Miss
Gertrude Krull of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Eleonora Olcott of North
Tonawanda; three sons, Arnold and Edward of North Tonawanda and William of
St. Johnsburg; 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three sisters,
Mrs. Emma Andrees of the town of Wheatfield, Mrs. William Runde of North
Tonawanda and Mrs. Louise Krupp of Germany, and three brothers, Charles
Schultz of St. Johnsburg and Otto and Emil Schultz of Germany. Rites will
be held Saturday afternoon at 2 from the residence and half an hour later
from the St. John's church, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial
will be in St. John's cemetery. Mrs. Krull was a member of the St. John's
church and the Ladies Aid society of St. Matthew's church.

Notes:

Krull, William, was born in Uckermerk, Germany, December 11, 1837, and came to America in 1843 with his parents. Christian and Mary (Veccue) Krull. His father was one of the early settlers in Wheatfield, and at the time of his death was one of the oldest residents. William Krull has been a farmer all his life and was actively engaged in that pursuit until he moved into Martinsville in 1857. He has been a successful man and has not only acquired ample means, but has also won the esteem of all classes by his honorable career and his strict integrity in all things. In 1857 he married Wilhelmina Milleville, who died in 1871, leaving six children: Augusta, Albertine, William C. and Wilhelmina, who are living; Christian and Matilda are dead. Mr. Krull married for his second wife Louisa Wolfe, and they have two children living, Matilda and Eleanor. Mr. Krull is a Democrat and was highway commissioner for three years in the town of Wheatfield; he has also been a trustee of St. Paul's German Lutheran church for twenty eight years. In 1894 he was a delegate to the Synod held at Pittsburg, and in 1897 delegate to Baltimore. During his career in this county he has always been a leader among his German fellow citizens, and as a man whose word has always been considered as good as his bond.
