    OLCOTT, April 21 - Mrs. Edna
    McArthur. 47. wife of Donald T.
    McArthur. died Sunday at her
    home. Van Buren Street following
    several months Illness. .The McAr
    tliurs made their home for several
    years in Jackson Street unta Mr.
    McArthur's work took the family
    to the West Coast. They returned
    about two years ago. Mrs. McArthur
    was active in many community or-
    ganizations and was well known as
    a dressmaker.
    Surviving, besides her husband,
    are her two sons, Thomas D., who
    served several months In the Navy
    during World War II and Alex M.,
    both at home; two brothers, David
    L Brimmer and John, both of
    Lockport and her mother, Mrs.
    Ella Brimmer, Sonyea.
    Services will be held tomorrow
    at 2:30 at the Paul Reynolds Funeral
    Home, East Avenue. Lockport.
    Burial will be In Cold Springs Cemetery.

    David M. Brimmer passed away
    on Wednesday evening April 3, 1946.
    He is survived by his wife one daughter
    and two sons Mrs. Edna, McArthur
    of Olcott, David L and John
    W. Brimmer of Lockport. one sister
    and one brother, Mrs. Mary Coapman
    and John Perrington of Lockport,
    N. Y. The funeral will be held on
    Sunday at 2:30 P. M. from the Funeral
    Home of Taylor As Reynolds
    Niagara at North Transit. The inter
    ment will be in Corwin Cemetery

    LOCKPORT-An area resident
    for most of her life, Mrs.
    Ella Brimmer, 84, died Wednesday
    (Oct. 20, 1965) in a
    hospital at Sonyea, N.Y., after
    a long illness.
    Born March 16, 1881, in
    Newfane, she was the daughter
    of William and Elizabeth
    Plain Brado. She was the
    widow of David M. Brimmer.
    Surviving are two sons,
    David L. Brimmer and John
    W. Brimmer, both of Lockport,
    and six grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 24
    and 7-9 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral
    Home. A service will be
    conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday
    at the funeral home by Rev.
    James Burdick, pastor of the
    Rapids United Brethren Evangelical
    Church. Burial will be
    in Corwin Cemetery.

    NEWFANB, April 22-The death
    of William Brado at his home In
    Newfane last "Saturday removes a
    figure that has long been familiar to
    t h i s vicinity. Coming to this country
    from Germany when he was six
    years old, he was thrown upon his
    own resources early In life, and be-
    gan to shift for 'himself at the age
    of 12. His home had always been
    In Niagara County. He was married
    to Elizabeth Plain in 1863 and at
    the outbreak of the Civil war he en-
    listed and saw service from 1861 to
    1862. He re-enlisted within three
    weeks and served till 1886, and was
    in 27 battles. He was with the third
    N e w York cavalry. His wife died In
    January, 1907. His death leaves but
    three or four veterans of ths Civil
    War remaining in the township. Five
    sons and two daughters survive him:
    William ,T. and Charles of Cambria;
    Frank. Lewis and Bert of Newfane,
    and Mrs. Ella. Brimmer of Lockport
    and Mrs. Alice Smith of Schenectady,
    The funeral was held on Monday afternoon.

    William married PLAIN, Elizabeth in 1863. Elizabeth was born about 1842 in England; died in Jan 1907. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
